I actually don't give a fuck if AJFA is thrash or not I listen to it because it's good. Just like with Re + Load I don't judge it because it's not thrash. Just like how St Anger is a great album, apart from the drumming and the repetitiveness.
Glad someone agrees with me on St. Anger. Good songs, super repetitive. Also thrash cans.

Damn I love Jump in the Fire, probably one of my favourite riffs from Kill 'Em All, next to Phantom Lord.
well it has alt picking in blackened, dyers eve, and shortest straw but not much besides that. dyer's eve is a killer thrash song as is blackened but the rest is too proggy (boring slow prog, not good watchtower/voivod/toxik prog) to really be thrash. not to say it's terrible though. definitely the least thrash out of the first 4 lol
Progressive thrash. That's probably why the album is my all time favorite besides why does slower music mean boring? There is a bit of filler withins eye of the beholder and shortest straw but other. Than that the album is pretty solid
the 2 live tracks on JIIF are fake lives of Seek and Destory and Phantom Lord.
yes. they are. they are still great recordings and have never been rereleased [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
Progressive thrash. Let me re-post that for you "we're not talking about if it's good or not just if it's thrash. if it is or not doesn't matter and no one is saying it does " my points was (as stated in the very post you quoted): "not to say it's terrible though. definitely the least thrash out of the first 4 lol" That's the main point. It's not bad, just the least "thrash" When I say boring progressive, I don't really mean it to be negative, just to say it's music made progressive while removing speed where there are plenty of bands that are progressive and can maintain that level of technicality. So I watched the metallica movie a few days ago for kicks... It's funny to realize that Metalocalypse is a satire of this band... bob rock included.. I think I'll stick to STP and Soundgarden
early or late soundgarden?
Down on the upside
i watched parts of the some kind of mosnter movie the clip where it shows the black album making is just terrible when james and lars are just fucking shitting on each other about their own perspective instruments, and how they cant talk about each others playing
I think you mean St. Anger
I think you mean St. Anger
No, there was a part in SKoM where they were talking about how during the recording of the Black Album, only Kirk and James could say anything about the guitar parts and only Lars and Jason could talk about their drums/bass respectively.
Oh, mustv'e forgotten about that. Watched it long time ago.
just finished watching the whole thing what a hard hitting piece of media. i should recommend all metallica fans see it. hell, even f you dont like metallica its a good watch
it's a great movie for any music fan. watch it twice and actually try to care and you'll see there's a lot more than what meets the eye on first glance
I watch between S&M, Some Kind of Monster, Mexico City and The Big 4 before going to bed each night.
I wish James still sounded like this :sigh:

anyone have a list of all the drugs that all the main members of metallica did (james, kirk, lars, jason, cliff, robert)
anyone have a list of all the drugs that all the main members of metallica did (james, kirk, lars, jason, cliff, robert)
Ehh, what?
He wants to use drugs so he can pioneer the new thrash metal movement
anyone have a list of all the drugs that all the main members of metallica did (james, kirk, lars, jason, cliff, robert)
in the Cliff era it was pretty much just weed I think. and booze, obviously.
in the Cliff era it was pretty much just weed I think. and booze, obviously.
im P sure lars was heavy into cocaine. but james and kirk i really would like to know, especially since kirk references it in "some kind of monster"
im P sure lars was heavy into cocaine. but james and kirk i really would like to know, especially since kirk references it in "some kind of monster"
Metallica, and especially James, is pretty anti-drug nowadays. Not sure if/what they did back in the day.
Metallica, and especially James, is pretty anti-drug nowadays. Not sure if/what they did back in the day.
They were heavy on drugs back in the 80's, which is why they're so against it now.
Kirk said in SKoM that he stopped taking drugs and cut back on the drinking because it was getting in the way of his surfing. But there's an extra scene that shows him in traffic school because he got busted driving while high on pot.
But what I want to know is if its more than weed. Like I said I heard Lars was heavy into cocaine
