I wouldn't call that a band
Very well, the earliest incarnation of Metallica as a band was James on vocals, Lloyd Grant on guitar, Ron Mcgovney on bass and Lars on drums, which I believe was still in 1981 :eng101:

Lloyd was never a member, he just played a guitar solo on one of the early versions of Hit the Lights.
jack makes a correct statement oh my god what is this world coming to
Reading to live is to die at the moment on chapter 8. Really interesting to read (and I don't read books).

I know, it's AMAZING!
Big 4 at sonisphere was only £180 with ALL the other bands and the entire fucking festival.

STOP THE PRESSES
i really don't see anything good coming out of lou reed + metallica. all i can imagine is the worst parts of load for an entire album, because their cover of sweet jane was atrocious
such is life when you hit puberty at the ripe ol' age of 22
The body doesn't fully develop into an adult until the age of 21, so it makes sense. James also had quite the facial hair sooner after it, and he looked a lot more matured.
Revival.

I'm seeing the big 4 in Sweden tomorrow (actually today, 3rd of july) ~ <3
I wish I was going to Sonisphere this year. So many awesome bands going, with the Big 4 headlining. Oh well. Iron Maiden and Airbourne will do fine enough :v:
I had to pick between big 4 in Sweden or Iron Maiden at Roskilde - I chose the big 4, obviously, Metallica being my favourite band, though it still kills me a bit on the inside to say no to Iron Maiden - that would've been amazing - I don't regret it one tiny bit though.
Ouch. I wouldn't be able to make a legit choice. If someone I knew was going to one show or the other then it'd make the choice easier though.
Well, it wasn't that hard, truthfully.
It was either Iron Maiden, one band which I love, or the big 4, four bands which I love.
Would be illogical to pick anything but the latter. ::::P
Good reasoning there.

Seeing both in the space of 2 weeks
Fuck yessss <3

I'm not sure what I'd go for given the choice. Of all 5 Iron Maiden are probably my favourite. But I do love the Big 4. And they all put on a great show. But then again Iron Maiden live seems godly.
But then again, the big 4 IS 4 bands.
Metallica is by far my favourite of the 5, however - Iron Maiden is lengendary. Like, in 50 years, it'll be cooler to say "I saw Iron Maiden" then to say "I saw the big 4". I mean, as much as I love Metallica (and the gang), I still have to admit that Iron Maiden has done more for music.
every early period of each band in the big 4 was playing sped up iron maiden songs basically lol
from the first two records that is
see:
Slayer - Crionics
Metallica - Jump in the Fire (or Motorbreath)
Anthrax - Anthrax
Megadeth - Rattlehead

Another setlist from Germany, oh god. I'm so excited about what they're gonna play at knebworth if this is the kind of setlist they are doing..... Ktulu alone would be awesome but man, i can't wait.

I saw them yesterday in Gothenburg, and it was the same setlist, so you're in for a treat, it was quite amazing.

I saw some of it on TV, I couldn't see a concert that long
It doesn't feel long when you're there, honestly. I just wanted it to go on and on forever. Though it's probably a good thing it didn't, my voice has suffered enough as it is. 2 hours of Metallica live does the voice no good!

Saw them on TV, I thought they put up a pretty good show.

Found this.
Laughed hard.
I always hear "You're living a lion" when I hear that line.
Damn, AJFA has to be Metallica's most technical album, tried to learn frayed ends of sanity, can't even get the main riff right :v:
Tried playing with pick but I'm no good at it. But just doesn't feel right with fingers.
The riff at 4.05ish gets me every time, it's so damn finicky
The only AJAF songs I can really play decently are One and the title track.
on AJFA I have trouble with the little part in the chorus after "I can't believe the PRICE *the section that gives me trouble* We pay! NOTHING CAN SAVE YOU!"
also this kid is trying to tell me that Metallica's Mercyful Fate medley was released BEFORE Mercyful Fate's song Evil, which is the last song in the medley.
Even though Evil was off Mercyful Fate's 1983 album Melissa and the Mercyful Fate Medley was off Metallica's 1998 Garage Inc.
:v:
