It really wasn't a parody, sounded like generic Nu-Metal to me.
People who like St Anger seem to generally be divided into two camps.
There are people who like it purely for the sake of contrarianism
And there are die hard Metallica fans who refuse to admit the band have ever done any wrong.
I don't think I've ever met anyone who seemed to honestly enjoy it :v:
i honestly enjoy it..........
As do I.
Well I've never met you so my hypothesis remains undamaged :smug:
I fall in the middle, it's not nearly as bad as people say it is, but it's Metallica's worst album, though over time, It has started to sound better, it still doesn't sound great.

I didn't say it was. I realize what I was trying to say didn't translate well over text.

I'm a die hard Metallica fan, but I just don't enjoy everything made from after the Black Album until Death Magnetic.

Agreed.
Load and Reload do have some good tracks though.
Rated funny because of the Dave Mustaine avatar.

because the im okay with your opinion part was completely sarcastic
Agreed.

Yeah, I have a few from Load and Relaod.
I'm a die hard Megadeth fan too :v:
Once again, I dislike everything after Youthanasia up until The System Has Failed.
I'll try and decode something for you. Metallica's most enjoyale albums are KEA, RTL, AJFA, TBA, Load, St Anger and Death Magnetic. Why? They're the only albums that aren't the exact fucking same as the previous one. Load for me was awesome, but after the first four tracks of ReLoad it got very old very quickly
Load wasn't bad at all, I just don't enjoy it very much. I like it a lot more than ReLoad though, A LOT more.
And by the way, those are opinions, but you state it as fact for some reason.
I enjoy Load, I don't like all the songs but most of them are pretty good. ReLoad I don't really enjoy except for first 5 songs and I find others pretty meh. I like St Anger but it does have it flaws such as it being too repetitive etc but overall I enjoy listening to the album. I used to be one of those who said that St Anger sucked and was horrible until I listened to it.

I agree with everything you said, but Load was kinda meh in my opinion. I wish Metallica stayed thrash forever.
oh come on risk is a piece of shit and youthanasia is boring as hell. don't get me started on cryptic writings.
only people that force themselves to enjoy those shitty 90s albums complain about that shit. Bands that stayed true like Razor and Tankard and Destruction... no one complains they didn't evolve.
Slayer is the band that did it right.
their newest album isn't good but christ illusion and god hates us all and everything inbetween were great.
[editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
how can you say cryptic writings is good but risk is shit
I had a dream that Metallica bought the farm market store across the street from my house and turned it into their studio.
I walked in, and Kirk stopped me and asked me what I was doing. I said "Woah.. WHat happened to the store that was in here, I wanted to buy a soda."
"Oh, yeah, we bought the place and turned it into a studio!"
"...Why here?"
"You know, I really don't know"
Then I walked over and picked up a guitar, and shat out an insane solo.
Lars who wasn't paying any attention.
"That sounded awesom Kirk."
"That wasn't me, actually"
"Was it James?"
"No it was-"
"You're telling me rob played that?"
"No i'm trying to tell you it wa-"
"Who was it then?"
"This kid"
"I don't believe you. Kid, do it again."
I did it again.
"Well shit, that's going on the album".
and then I woke up.
No you didn't, because then they would have got fucking boring and you'd wish they'd developed their sound. Thats what idiotic Metallica fans dont get
I think it wouldn't be boring at all if they stayed thrash.
Please, why can't you respect my opinion? I'm not wrong and I do believe what I said, it's just a thought.
oh come on risk is a piece of shit and youthanasia is boring as hell. don't get me started on cryptic writings.
Youthanasia is one of my favorite albums. I just like the style of it.
Back on topic: I keep watching the Seattle 89 show, it is such an amazing performance.
there isn't much great from load, reload and st anger. a couple of tracks from each one, not much though.
there isn't much great from load, reload and st anger. a couple of tracks from each one, not much though.
there is from load, somewhat agree with other 2 albums.
there isn't much great from load, reload and st anger. a couple of tracks from each one, not much though.
Load is better than the other 2, I like more tracks from it.
they're all pretty bland.
Was just listening to some tracks from Master of Puppets, I think Lars is best in this record, the drums are amazing.
I think his writing is way better on AJFA in terms of fills and beyond.
But they are much more solid and precise on MoP
So today I decided to look up what the artwork for Load and Reload was. I discovered both were done by Andres Serrano.

the art for Load is called "Blood and Semen III"

The art for ReLoad is called "Piss and Blood"
I liked it better when it was a mystery to me.

to each his own
I love his double kick on AJFA. That's what does it for me.
James looks so badass in the late '80's and early '90's.
Look at this fucker

He's pretty sexy too.
He looks a lot better than in 83, he looked such a baby.

Yeah I know

Look at his skinny little head and his tiny arms.
Slayer seem to be the only band that've remained consistently good throughout their entire career
diabolus in musica was basically a paving stone for nu-metal but it's still better than Metallica's 90s work lol
