The quality is dulled because the record company made the songs really loud. It's not that bad in my opinion.

Exactly, because guitar hero metallica master files were spreaded like wildfire.

It's amazing how the guitar hero tracks were actually less compressed so you could actually remix them properly. If they were the same master tracks from the album, you wouldn't really get much from remixing it since you can't exactly "decompress" them because the data wouldv'e not been there.
I tend to agree with Gary Holt that Rick Rubin is a bad, and mainly lazy producer.

Yeah, I can easily imagine Lars doing that while James yells "Creepiiiiiiing Deeeaaaaaaaath!"
But the balls are out, that usually happens during the encore and Creeping Death is normally one of the first songs they play.
It's expected on all songs really. Like you'll hear the hats then you prepare that James is going to yell the song or the intro lyric and probably put "YEAH" on the end
