Don't do it and submit it unless it's honestly a REALLY good recording, though. Nobody wants to hear a sloppy, error-ridden version of a fast, heavy song just to try to impress some judges.
I forgot to clarify that Metallica decides the winners unless they can't be contacted to do so before September 30th. So it's not necessary EMG judging.
And I'm not all too good at guitar in terms of solo stuff, but fast riffs like FFWF and DH come pretty easy to me actually. It'd just be a matter of being consistent in one take. Also they're limiting entries to 3 minutes.

I decided to go with Sanitarium, I'm going to play up to right before the main solo and transition that part into the ending since it's the same thing basically. (play up to 4:07, transition that to 5:43) They said you can be a little bit over, but not by too much.
anyone can play metallica songs clean, it's all about what attitude and spirit you put into it for something like that, and flashy production value.

St Anger album is in drop C, pretty sure Sad But True is full step or half step, Thing that should not be and All Nightmare Long are both drop D. Other than that pretty much every song is standard.
