[QUOTE=Plattack;30815745]HARDCOREEE!
I just tried a thumbaround, couldn't even begin to get it working for the life of me. I'm not in the most comfortable position, and I have trouble with the initial flick & getting it balanced on my fingers right.[/QUOTE]
Right now my fingers are all shakey, I can barely even hold a pen.
The Art Of How To Not Drop Your Shit
[QUOTE=Death n1;30815329]This is very similar to that coin spinning trick, general hand tricks really. Always been interesting in them. I'd say anyone that likes to fiddle with their fingers would be interested in this. Actually moving out of your own way however to learn it I don't think many would.
Can't see my self taking this seriously that's for sure.
Why do a lot of girls always try to connect these kind of things to relationships. It's so fucking annoying, holy shit. A lot of men like playing games, fiddling around. Especially nerds and hello, this is facepunch.
Such an ignorant thing to say. Pet peeve I guess.[/QUOTE]
It was a joke; settle down there.

I can't do a High Speed fingerpass anymore. :frown:
I guess I had too much time on the keyboard than using a pen.
thats really good.
Yes! Finally a pen spinning thread. This is a much needed skill everyone needs to learn, it keeps you occupied during those boring lessons at school.
I can do all the stuff in the OP (all the listed tricks I mean, not the stuff in the first video :v:)
My favorite combo is Shadow to a twisted sonic which leads into a finger-round.
When I'm just sat with a pen and not trying though I do double sonics / charge / double charge.
thats really good![img]http://sn.im/27tcyx[/img]

You should probably see a doctor about that. That isn't normal.

Boris Grishenko approves of this thread.

It has the incredible power to start a conversation with just about anyone, but anything beyond that is stupid creepy.
[QUOTE=evlbzltyr;30803845]I swear there's one of these threads made every six months or something. And it never has enough contributors or regulars to justify a v2, so the thread sort of just fades into obscurity.[/QUOTE]
It's great, just requires some dedictation and free time, FP is a community of busy businessmen so they don't have any.
The names sound incredibly stupid.
You think "double charge oh my god it sounds awesome"
...then it's a pen spinning around fingers.
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
Still really cool though.
Cool another thread about pen spinning
Oh, its this.
It was more or less of a fad back when I was in Middle School, people 'traded' and 'collected' (Note that I'm using these terms loosely, here) Pens, and classes were full of kids spinning Pens and throwing them halfway across the room if they screwed up.
I never got into it, not very interested.
The longest combo I can do is Sonic 34 > Twisted Sonic Bust 23 > Charge 12 > Thumbaround. I don't know any transitions from TA besides TA harmonic, which I can't do.
I can do the thumbaround, I am proud.

Damn you and your dexterity :argh:
This pen-spinning stuff is hard. My fingers feel stiff and unresponsive. :saddowns:
Attempting to learn the thumbaround now, I really need a better pen though since the one I'm using is a cheap pile of crap.

Starting to rage already and it's only been 10 minutes of practice. Hnnng.

Once you learn the movement you can do it with anything from a water bottle to a baguette, but for learning I'd suggest you use an unsharpened pencil.

Well I have no unsharpened pencils lying around at the moment but I'll try to find something easier to use than this thing.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Wait, found one but it's not perfectly cylindrical. Better than the pen though.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Gave up on the thumbaround, I've been trying the fingerpass for half an hour but I still can't seem to get it right.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Huge temptation to ragequit.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Found out where I'm constantly messing up on the fingerpass. When I try to pass from my middle and ring finger to my ring and pinky I find it extremely difficult and just end up dropping the pencil.
Should I just keep building muscle in my pinky?

Just keep practicing and don't think too much about it, it's really muscle memory and eventually it'll just click. Keep experimenting with different ways to build and retain momentum, listen to what the tutorials have to say, and eventually you'll get it perfectly every time.

Ok, will do.
Starting to get the hang of the fingerpass now.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
I found this thumbaround tutorial much more useful than the one in the OP, I've nearly got the hang of this trick now.

[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Just done 2 thumbarounds in a row, practice pays off.
I would learn this just to show off in the middle of math class.
I can get the thumbaround right, it's just the catching is rather difficult.
So worth it when you actually get it right though.
[editline]3rd July 2011[/editline]
Hell yes, nearly mastered the thumbaround.
You made me stab my eye :saddowns:
I can do the basic thumbaround, backaround, and fingerless thumbaround. Everything else is a custom variation. Infiniti cardioid charge/tornado.
