To those who haven't seen this documentary yet. It explains our fascination with Japanese vehicles. Not only that, but the culture, society, anti-society, community and social gatherings that encompass the whole spectrum of interests. It's not just all about drifting and fast foreign cars. There's so much more and delves deeper than that; where the only way you would fully understand is if you're in the loop or you're in the country all together:

Speedway is the shit, my favorite thing to do in the summer is to go to the local track and watch them bumbling about, too bad they're shit though
I also love that they have only one gear and no brakes

My friends and I had a 30 person viewing party one night, pizza and alcohol and talking about building cars and getting non-car friends into cars.
Was great.

It's cool, but it doesn't really work on the GT 86.
Also no RS8s on the Trueno, disappoint.
Celica Supras work though, they seem to be a classic AE85 matchup.
Just not for the Initial D reference.
Tofu Trueno always conjures up fond memories of nights spent on the couch watching poorly drawn people race beautifully animated cars through winding touges to ridiculously catchy Eurobeat music. Gosh I love that show.

The anime is indeed very dated. But you watch it for the fantasy of doing the same thing one day. Anti-society, anti-government rejects not having a care in the world but their ego in those mountain roads
Makes me all sparkly eyed.
Here's a neat one.
