It isn't bad, really. My suggestion is to stop thinking about how you are suppose to write it and instead concentrate on how to honestly portray your character. The journal entry should be written like a real journal. Would your character actually begin with 'Dear Journal’?
Work on beginning with a hook. If you don’t interest the reader with the first line, especially on a site like fictionpress, you will get no readers.
Try this:
Dear diary,
I don’t know if it’s possible for a man to get an abortion, but no one can blame me for trying.
