No. Just because the Kaiser makes a speech or two, or a few German officers have too much to drink and begin talking nonsense, you'll hear some people say war's inevitable. And to that I say - fiddlesticks! The Germans don't want war. Nobody wants war, except some half civilized folks in the Balkans. And why? There's too much at stake these days. Everything to loose and nothing to gain by war.
We need a good ole World War.
Thin out the population of dumb people.
WWIII? No chance. And please stop making crap threads every 5 seconds, filling up GD with it.
Please stop making these shit threads, NUSA5. Especially if they're about politics, something that is far beyond your mental capacity.
What a shitty thread. This is almost as bad as the one 2012 thread where the guy said bye to everyone on FP.
If North Korea fucks up and nukes China, then All of asia will go wild.
Then America will try to stop it, and end up getting in war with all of Asia.
My theory. :sax:
Otherwise there's no chance of it happening.
The only problem we would have with NK is that China is still(barely) their ally.
May I draw your attention to the unrest in the Middle East? Sure, it isn't a world war, but look at it like this: Society hugely mourns the soldiers and civilians that have died in it, and it is indeed terrible, but if you compare it with WW1 and 2, the death rates are pitifully small. Millions died in the previous world wars - do you really think anyone has the political balls to start a war of that kind of magnitude today? Would anyone volunteer? I think not. Well, not unless they were forced to by some kind of communi... oh shit.
OP just came back from MW2 game
First off, i don't have MW2.
So stop assuming i do idiot.

It doesn't begin with them intending to have millions of casualties though, it's due to countries having far too high-opinions of themselves to let their national interest be questioned by foreigners. The war on terror is the defining war of this generation (thus far), and while it's 'pitifully small' in comparison, it certainly has the international condemnation and discussion to be counted up there with the likes of the world wars. And as it's usually about a nation's sovereignty, I think people will always volunteer for wars.
He's too busy making shit threads to play MW2. (or learn what defines a world war)
Nop.

Allow me to point out the problems with this statement.
1. "icon" is not a verb
2. I don't make icons for Cowed, and I absolutely hate the game.
3. It's completely irrelevant
4. You're an idiot.

But in this day and age? How many people would go to war 'for King/Queen/President and Country'? What a quaint idea. I admit NK poses some danger, but WWIII? Not a chance.
Also, @NUSA5 - learn to spell. Seeing the occasional punctuation mark would be welcome, too.
Depends on what you consider a world war.

Some countries enforce national service and conscription.
DERP? There could be conflicts but I doubt there will be another world war any time soon, at least they won't call it that.
The previous world wars didn't involve the entire world as the name suggests so it is likely other terms of reference will be used.
Korean war is plausible but unlikely.
The world is too afraid of each other to go to war.
Hasnt been a proper war since everyone got nukes.
World War III likely won't happen for at least 5-20 years. I don't see anything soon now that China's not a player in the Korea issue, but the suddenness of the Korea thing does go to show how fragile our diplomatic relations and the world's stability really are/is. In a week, things could go from hunky-dory to VDV over France or Marines landing in Beijing. Who knows for sure? It will happen, it's only a matter of when, where, and how.
Maybe it won't be for 60-100 years. Hell, we survived the Cold War and the huge mess that was.
There's about 1 country in the world that absolutely hates the west capable of waging a world war.
China of course.
Err well i shouldn't say absolutely hates. But you get the picture.
And even then, in this instance China's trying to stay well out of it.
I really hope nothing happens. But if we're unlucky enough to have armed conflict, it's nice to know that it'll probably be over quickly. And we can all get back to not being at war.

It's quite fascinating how a twisted crazy man can take over a country and make the rest of the world fear it.

That said, I don't mind fascinating people being blown up by hundreds of rockets.
i hope so

After their economic meltdown.
We're in another Cold War but no, it won't surmount to anything.

Who? What are the sides?
World Wars are outlawed in the Geneva Convention. I'm unsure if it's the third or forth Geneva Convention.
