And hahaha! yes, I wish my penis lit up with LED lights at night sometimes.
I don't get Facepunch. They hate a small, safe, Arab country. But go fucking in love with Wikileaks and their potentially war causing stuff.
what wikileaks does is good. and that's FINAL.
Last time I checked you didn't get 5 years in prison for having gay sex in the US.
Why you so bugged 'bout the 5 years prison sentence for gays? Are YOU gay?
Hey Conspiracy, I have a question. I watched a movie at school about Qatar, and the movie basically said that Qatar is a very wealthy country, and that everyone has massive houses and badass cars. Is it true that everyone there has lots of money?
what wikileaks does is good. and that's FINAL.
nope because that's an opinion.
nope because that's an opinion.
Technically you're right, but I don't see how sharing information with the public can be "evil".
Technically you're right, but I don't see how sharing information with the public can be "evil".
It's being shared in the wrong way, I think this will only make govts more closed, but there is already a thread about this.

We have an extremely low poverty rate. And even those who are considered to live in low quality housing get food, television, water, jobs, etc. for free. It's nothing like we're socialists or anything - we just have the money to spare and Qatar is really big on Charity with the Qatar Red Crescent/Red Cross/Reach out to Asia programs to name a few.
My brother was stationed in Qatar for the U.S. Airforce. Some beautiful places there, you wouldn't guess that there were such amazing structures.
Why you so bugged 'bout the 5 years prison sentence for gays? Are YOU gay?
Does my sexuality matter?
Why you so bugged 'bout the 5 years prison sentence for gays? Are YOU gay?
what's wrong with being gay what's wrong with being concerned about unfair persecution for gay people, even if you're not gay yourself

I'm jelly. I want to live there.
LGBT rights still remains that one barrier that developed nations still haven't overcome. It should be no surprise it's frowned upon in Qatar as well.
This is true. Homosexuality and conflicts regarding it run much deeper than religion. Our species is built on sexual reproduction, and homosexuality is a perversion of that. While it can and should be accepted universally, it isn't because of the stigma surrounding it.
Last time I checked you didn't get 5 years in prison for having gay sex in the US.
Do me a favor, walk out into the middle of an open road and go at it with a guy in the US. Your ass will land in jail faster than you can blink. Like mentioned before, it's not like swat teams are going to burst into your room the moment you get it on with a guy. Seriously, what you do in your room at your own time is your business. Public sex is a generally discouraged act everywhere in the world, really.
These are just lies to make it seem nicer/better.
These are just lies to make it seem nicer/better.
Really? Disprove them.
I don't mind Qatar getting the World Cup, but it's pretty clear that FIFA is ridiculously corrupt. The least they could do was clean up their act before they voted. Still, I'd rather a country like Qatar got the World Cup than the UK; Arab countries need more exposure since people seem to dismiss them as a caveman society.
This is all fantastic and shit but has yet to provide evidence that Qatar is a good choice for hosting the world cup.
This is all fantastic and shit but has yet to provide evidence that Qatar is a good choice for hosting the world cup.
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/bidders/live/newsid=1343821/index.html English starts a few minutes in. That should show you.
what's wrong with being gay what's wrong with being concerned about unfair persecution for gay people, even if you're not gay yourself
I thought it was already established that the punishment is exactly the same for homo and hetero couples - almost instant deportation. Shit like holding hands is okay, I've seen gay couples holding hands and they were fine, but for example any shit above hugging or a kiss on the cheek is a bad idea. If you're seen by a cop, doesn't matter if you're a dude kissing a dude or a dude kissing a chick, you will get your ass deported faster than I get the runs after eating taco bell
If you're drunk publicly you get arrested. Possibly the worst law to have around a world cup.

The fact that your goverment has come up and passed this law against homosexuals is a horrible act alone.

The fact that your goverment has come up and passed this law against homosexuals is a horrible act alone.
Actually, now that I remember it's not just a law for homosexuals. Sodomy in and of itself is against islam, so no matter whether you're a hetero or homo couple, you'd get punished for having anal sex. Edit: Verse from the Qur'an
Third: On the authority of Khuzaima ibn Thaabit who said: "A man asked the Prophet Muhammad about entering women in the rear, or the entering by a man of his wife in her rear, and the Prohet Muhammad answered: `Halaal (ie. permissible).' When the man turned to leave, the Prophet Muhammad called him back and said : "What did you say? In which of the 2 openings did you mean? If what you meant was from her rear and in her vagina, then yes. But if what you meant was from her rear and in her anus, then no. Verily Allaah is not ashamed of the truth - do not enter your wives in their anuses!"
Don't enter your wives in their anuses. Bam, right there your entire arguement is bunk
If you're drunk publicly you get arrested. Possibly the worst law to have around a world cup.
It's the same as in the US and a lot of other countries
It's the same as in the US and a lot of other countries
However in those countries being drunk in tansition from clubs or games or simply drinking at a football game isn't illegal.
