that the mom could be doing better with her money by spending it on a better charity or anything else
It is her money. You're opinion of a "better" charity is exactly that. An opinion. To her, that is the best charity around, and that is why she is donating it there. Stop being so close minded. It's pretty obvious you're not a fan of churches, seeing as that is why you are freaking out, because it is a church she is donating to. Stop being a selfish asshole and let her donate to her church instead of buying games for you. [editline]07:30PM[/editline]
OP didn't say he wants to gain from their money.
Something doesn't have to be said to be painfully obvious.
I think the issue is that OP's family is having financial issues and on top of that apparently has no fund prepared for university education for their children. He definitely should bring this up with BOTH of his parents and should find a solution that makes them both happy.
imasillypiggys is not the op, read the thread funcoot. And even if they were to switch to another charity, yeah there's better ones that church tithing. That's a fuckin' fact, the church has enough money to keep itself running but there's still starving people all over the world.

My parents both make below the poverty line and spend a lot of it on beer, cigarettes, and pot, but I'm working to make my own money and getting grants and scholarships to go to college. It is their money and they get to spend it as they please, that is why they are adults. He has no room to confront them about their spending habits, as it obviously has very little affect on him. He has internet, how bout you ask your parents to turn off the cable and internet before you go telling them to stop giving them to charity.
Just finished a conversation with my mom. She said that she will consider NOT donating next month, but she also thinks that it is unfair for me to tell her its not smart to donate. Even though she knows I don't believe in god, she keeps asking me to 'try' church, even though the pastor is rich because he takes the tithing $$$ for himself.
so your saying that even though op is a kid it is alright for your parents to spend money on pot. and ops mom is spending it on practically nothing
She is funding a church with it. So yes it is perfectly fine. And guess what, if parents are raising a kid perfectly fine, then yeah they can buy fucking pot if they want to. It's not like they're buying heroine or meth.
like i said she is spending her money on something that doesnt help the world when she could be spending it on stopping cancer or something
Churches are responsible for a great deal of welfare programs and organizations.
Churches are responsible for a great deal of welfare programs and organizations.
well she could be giving the money to a charity that spends all there money on helping the poor not just some or spend money on ways to get to the root of the problem
well she could be giving the money to a charity that spends all there money on helping the poor not just some or spend money on ways to get to the root of the problem
What if your mom told you not to spend your money on your computer or video games because you could be spending it on books or putting it towards college?
What if your mom told you not to spend your money on your computer or video games because you could be spending it on books or putting it towards college?
first off i do spend alot of money on books and if i become smart then i can solve the worlds problems so that kinda a good thing but like i said lets say you have 2 choices of who to give money to the first for every 50 you give 10 will go to starving people and he rest will go into making a man rich or building useless stuff while choice number 2 will give the starving person some god dammed food with the money. and i would like to also say that church run charities never use the best way of feeding either

Would you like it if your mom told you how to spend your money? No you wouldn't. Your parents didn't birth you to control their spending habits. Either way, this argument is obviously going no where. You think it's ok to decide how your parents spend their money.

We only used to pay $20 a month to our church, and our church is quite nice. You might wanna tell your mom to relax the donations a bit. But don't tell her you want an Xbox. Tell her you want a college education.
well when people say icecream is my favorite thats an opinion but when someone says in my opinion jews rule the world that can be proven wrong
That's called a false fact :eng101: [editline]08:16PM[/editline] If a statement can be proven right or wrong, it's a fact, regardless of it's authenticity.
