i have not i know this but someone said something that can and can not be proven wrong or right as an opinion and i was just trying to get him to understand
Um no you didn't mix up fact and opinion to help him understand, that makes no sense.
Um no you didn't mix up fact and opinion to help him understand, that makes no sense.
last time i tried to explain to someone that fact and opinion are different i got in a huge thing so i just said opinion this time so that would not happen
your mom gave you birth, fgt
I like how someone having unprotected sex is a reason for respect.
I like how someone having unprotected sex is a reason for respect.
so edgy so dangerous my heart melts
well a parent should get respect basest on if they are a good parent
Fuck her. Simple.
What did your dad have to say to this?
I go to church and all, pay my dues for hopeless encouragement no matter how fruitless it seems. It's only to the thought that counts, nonetheless I have learned a few things about people donating large sums of money, it's either to gain a foot hold in acquiring a position in the leadership team (ushers) to show off, or try to reach it, another in being your assumption being correct, your mom is an idiot and should get her priorities straight, and lastly a desperate attempt to seek enlightenment. The 'give 10% a year' is horse shit, the message behind it and the thought of donating is the most powerful thing to it, the amount of money has nothing to it.
God DAMN IT!!!
I bet that priest is spending all that money on cocaine and hookers.
You won't be funding his gas money anymore
This is what religion does to people
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
gtfo [editline]10:32PM[/editline]
and i think there are threads for people to argue about this stuff now stop trying to start a shitstorm
First off :wtc: Second of all, we Facepunch users should make a church, make them pray to garry, and then get loads of cash in our own way of "giving to the church". Except of course if you are reading this. You will probably make your own church. Like the guy who made the one about the flying spaghetti monster.
Just finished a conversation with my mom. She said that she will consider NOT donating next month, but she also thinks that it is unfair for me to tell her its not smart to donate. Even though she knows I don't believe in god, she keeps asking me to 'try' church, even though the pastor is rich because he takes the tithing $$$ for himself.
Have you seen Touch Down Jesus? The pastor of that church has his own ranch too... The pastor of my church is the only "official" who gets paid. His paycheck is pretty slim, as the church is pretty small. The thing is that most of the money goes towards children's ministry, local area outreach, financial funds for those who have a financial crisis, and donating to food pantries and things like that. Oh yes, this is a fun fact for you all. If all of the members of American Baptist churches gave $5:00 a year to mission funding, it could sponsor all of the missionaries of (missions organization here: I don't want a thousand boxes showing up at the company or anything), which is about 100 missionaries working worldwide. So in other words, if every American baptist didn't buy a Big Mac combo, and gave that money to missions, it would find all of the missionaries and workers for a year.
first off i do spend alot of money on books and if i become smart then i can solve the worlds problems so that kinda a good thing but like i said lets say you have 2 choices of who to give money to the first for every 50 you give 10 will go to starving people and he rest will go into making a man rich or building useless stuff while choice number 2 will give the starving person some god dammed food with the money. and i would like to also say that church run charities never use the best way of feeding either
Please stop. You're not helping your point in the slightest. The main point isn't about who the money is going to; it's the matter of how this money is being spent while in a financial crisis. It's a large matter of sorting out her priorities for her family.

OP says: My mom is a Dipshit for giving large amounts of money to people that need it! The fuck is wrong with you
OP says: My mom is a Dipshit for giving large amounts of money to people that need it! The fuck is wrong with you
i think hes saying shes stupid for giving it to the church
for every dallor she gives to the church they will use it to pay off people so the priests dont go to jail for molestation, so they can brainwash kids, so the pope can buy whatever he wants, so starving kids in africa can get bibles ( but they not condoms) and so science can be can be held back. also $13,247 is more then my mom gets in a whole month so tell your mom do do something good with that money like giving it to a science foundation or giving it to me
Here, have boxes.
OP says: My mom is a Dipshit for giving large amounts of money to people that need it! The fuck is wrong with you
He has the right to disagree with the cause of the "charity". Who knows what the hell the church did with all that money. Generally, unless it's a special event where you're donating through the church (and a certain percentage goes to the church itself) to another charity, that money is used to pay people who aren't volunteers or upkeep the church with supplies and such. I mean seriously who the hell knows where that money is going. If he's atheist then that money, in his opinion, would be going to waste, in the same way atheists believe anything religion related events are a complete waste of time.
pope spendin all the churches money on pimpin out the vatican and putting chrome rims on his popemobile
OP says: My mom is a Dipshit for giving large amounts of money to people that need it! The fuck is wrong with you
They need it more. There is nothing wrong with wanting to help others but when you are short on cash yourself you should worry about your own finances so as not to end up as the one needing help.
They need it more. There is nothing wrong with wanting to help others but when you are short on cash yourself you should worry about your own finances so as not to end up as the one needing help.
And then not receiving any.
It shouldn't matter how much overall she gave. I can say that I used over $500 on food during my high school year. It's 1/10 of what you make that is what you are supposed to give. Just because you think the church is stupid doesn't mean it's "dumb". Yeah, it would be nice to have a college fund, I don't have one. But a lot of people don't have a college fund. I know DIRT poor people who live off of food stamps and they STILL give 10% of what they make, if they make anything at all. EDIT: My dad gives about $100-$200 when he goes to church. It's something you do. He makes the money, So I can't complain he earned so he can do what he wants with it.
Here, have boxes.
so i take it you dont get my main point also i think the op is angry that she is giving it to a church because op and his dad both know that giving money to the church isnt really helping poor people as other charities could
leadership team (ushers)
Good joke Craptasket

Ten percent might not seem like much, but as the OP demonstrates, it adds up and that money could have been much better used to help advance the well being of her own family, she's just being neglectful in her duties as a parent
I would be kind of pissed
