I'm not sure it's the vocals I focus more on, more her creativity. The sounds are completely wild sometimes. :v:

Great soul vocalist.
was listening to both Regina Spektor and Sarah Slean for the first time properly.
I do have to say, I enjoyed both but Slean was stunning.

That voice pretty much captured the atmosphere with ease.

There definitely is a trend of women not being respected as artists as compared with the majority.
Look at any top 50 list these days and you'll never find a female artist.
I still believe they're a whole new world of personality as compared to the rest. They think different to us, and it scares me. :)

uhhhhhhhhhhhh
many of the mainstream pop artists are women..
uhhhhhhhhhhhh

Okay, disregard the mainstream for that comment.
I'm talking about the actual music community.
Well, girls seem more likely to like mainstream pop than boys do, because everything is pretty much marketed for teenage girls. :v:
For every girl in for example the metal community, there is probably 10 guys.

Yeah, if we steer clear from the teen pop thing then we'll find some good things.
Going towards the indie or r&b/jazz vibe, you'll find some inspired female artists.

this song with Sarah Cracknell is really good, her voice is pretty great.

Then again there were some really good female artists in the 90s. Wonder where they all went. :(

Listen to yourself. Top 50. Majority. They're always unrespecting of good musicians.

Not necessarily. Sometimes when a majority is capable of enjoying something, it's a good thing.
Maybe The Beatles are slightly overstated, but in terms with most of the popular stuff.
