Don't get even bothered with people who can lift more than you do. Almost everyone at the gym started with a bit of weight before lifting big fucking weights. You'll see very often people as weak as you or weaker than you going to gym. If you keep with that "I will do that in the comfort of my own home" mentality, you'll keep in this situation for a while.
I get motivated by though of feel after workout. I feel awesome at end of running session / workout.

One day, I was finishing off a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper I decided I needed to cut the crap and get in shape. I was steadily rising, gained like 40 pounds in a year. Went from that one day, to literally the very next day running 20-30 minutes, no soda, drinking only water and unsweetened tea, and on a 1500 cal diet. I was just determined to save my health. So I guess what I'm saying is, you have to have a significant reason to want to change. Don't be like "Eh, I should try to lose 5 pounds" because then you'll likely gain it back right after being done with it.
