man, i can't wait until they can traverse the time/space fabric(but, i'll have to. what is it, 3000 years until the next silver age?)

Yeeeeeeeeeah
I want some goddamn warp drives. A life without interstellar travel is depressing for the nerd
Sometimes after viewing and contemplating the sheer size of our universe, i begin to feel so, so insignificant, like there's nothing we as humans can do to make a difference.
Don't worry, some day in the far far future a race of sentient machines will harvest us and put us into use.
Spaceships. Yes.
That is an incredibly impractical design for a spacecraft.

Facepunch, worry not about space travel or ships! Xenu will come back in his DC-8 and bring us back to the Galactic Confederacy from our current planet Teegeeack, after all he left us here 75 million years ago, when he feels that we are ready. We will head back to our 26 stars, and 76 planets. You all don't have high enough clearance though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology read those. DO IT NOW. YOU'RE GOING TO GET LEFT BEHIND.

I like spaceships, they go shooom.
Heavy: My sandvich. Its Flying Scout: my bonk is bonking your sandvich. No other drink gonna do that in space
I wonder what happens when we let loose a flock of birds in a zero gravity envoierment? And one cat.
They have taken cats on the vomit comet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krq37IWOpIk Birds would quickly die in space because they can't swallow without the help of gravity. Flight is also unlikely even in an artificial atmosphere because their wings are designed to oppose the force of gravity.
I'm actually writing my research paper on NASA. If anyone has the following, please PM articles/books/etc to me ______________________________________________________ 1. NASA spinoffs that have benefitted mankind 2. Anything to do with WHY NASA is constantly underfunded 3. Nasa's influence as we reach into the stars ____________________________________________________ Thank you.
I believe NASA has contributed considerably to now ubiquitous technologies such as microwaves, cellular communication, solar panels, and more. Relative to the gross national budget, the amount of money spent on funding NASA is tiny, but it still equates to billions of dollars. Overall it is a result of what expectations the current administration wants. The space race emphasized the need for space technology, much in the way 2 aging men might turn to the "little blue pill" for help in a phallus-measuring-contest.
They finished the Internation Space Station recently, and they're going to retire the Space Shuttle fleet and work on some new space vehicle too. It's progress.
I lay in bed every night and think about space and aliens :c00lbert:

I can't wait until we discover some good mean to travel from point A to B with almost no power draw.
