do we need to communicate?
or do we need all that knowledge?
Do we need it to live? Not generally. Is it useful for raising the standard of human living above simply survival? Yes.
How does electricity improve life?
It's often used to create medicine in factories and shit.

To answer the question stated in the title, yes. Yes it does.
If you don't like technology just go out and live in the wild. No one will miss you.
How does electricity improve life?
Try living on a desert island for two years alone, and you'll figure it out.
How does space travel help create medicine?
Hahahahahaa. You just can't compare the two.
Although, some types of micro-organisms grow differently in 0g, and that that could be beneficial for the development of antibiotics.
How does space travel help create medicine?
Well, space travel creates problems to solve, and often while trying to solve one issue, we make a discovery that helps solve other issues.
Science hasn't destroyed the world, Money did.
ITT: Someone asks pseudo-intellectual questions in order sound deep, but just sounds like a tool.

Not that much. This one was just extraordinarily stupid.
I would love to have been born thousands of years in the past in some little Norse village or something. (I wouldn't know the difference, but you know what I mean)
But I'm fine with this life and thankful for the knowledge we have now that people didn't have then.
ITT: Someone asks pseudo-intellectual questions in order sound deep.
Like I said, except you worded it a lot better than me.
Doe it matter? When people create something, it makes makes them feel fulfilled. In addition, it may make some task in their day easier, or make them money by selling it. Multiply this by all the inventors/ scientists/ artists/ businessmen and then by 20 thousand years of human civilization, and you get what we have now. End of story.
It has nothing to do with progress, it's just a bunch of people living and working together, no different then living in trees really, just a different setting.
 at OP.
He tried to sounds deep, but failed.
