Guys are we really going to waste this much time arguing over whether she's a real fan or not? There's a million reasons I can think of why she didn't beat Portal - maybe she got in with Portal 2, or has high standards for "beating a game" like "all achievements", or got stuck on the final boss fight.
Are you really that desperate to exclude people from your fandom based on ridiculous standards? At minimum, she likes the characters and story. That alone is good enough for me.

I'm pretty certain that no one considers getting 100% of the trophies/achievements in a game to be "beating" it.
You play through the story if there is one, maybe unlock the characters or stages or whatever.
If I become the Pokemon League Champion, I "beat" Pokemon.
Once the credits roll, you can consider it "beat" to some degree.
