It's not bullshit though.
A desktop will never be nearly as good for portability as a laptop.
If you move around a lot and you want to play games, having a laptop with good specs is super nice.
How is it less "gaming" when there's a laptop in the picture?

I mean more in terms of the whole Alienware/Razer marketing strategy. They're units with fixed hardware that can't be upgraded, and cost considerably more than the total value of their components. Meanwhile, some laptops today can actually be built like PCs can, if you know where to look, and you save a great deal of money.

Can't really talk for Alienware, and I don't like the marketing of neither.
But Razers laptops are fucking solid. They are extremely well built, hence the increased price tag.
Thinking of the Razer blade in particular.
And as for upgradability...
Some Alienware laptops let you change the GPU, the CPU, the RAM, the HDD, the CD drive, the networks card and the screen panel.

I have more experience with Alienware than Razer, so I suppose I was mistaken in thinking they were the same. if Razer is good value for your money, then it's awesome.
