I see what you're getting at but really I think that the government shouldn't have any say on what you put into your body. What they should do is have a government program where the actual government sells high quality drugs in a regulated manner, and properly informs users of the consequences and effects. This way, people know what they're getting into, and they know what they're getting too. If the person is taking some sort of serious drug like heroin or PCP, they have to stay somewhere where there are people to supervise. The government could also put limits on people who are taking too much, and also stop people who are too young to be fucking around with serious shit.
With this system, people can do all the drugs that they want, but they won't OD or get laced shit because it's all regulated. And the government gets all of the profit.

I agree on some points and disagree on others. Not gonna get into it since I'm going to sleep really soon. Either way, we're a long long long ways from this ever happening.
Yeah, it's never going to happen (at least not in my lifetime as far as I can see) but I think that's really the only way to go if people want to legalize hard drugs.
