Called in sick today, 4 hours sleep a night since Sunday fucked me up, especially dropping 4 in the time too (2 Sunday, 2 Wednesday) and smoking weed inbetween. Sleep pattern well and truly borked, as is my head.

I have a stoner question. My coughing after a hit never seems to lessen. If I take a monster hit I always cough for years. Do you ever build a tolerance to this effect. This is only from bongs really. I can smoke bacci on its own fine.
Im guessing you should build up a tolerance to it naturally. It works the same way smoking a fag would, people who don't smoke them will cough if they take a fairly large toke, but experienced smokers wouldn't feel this at all. It's either because your lungs adapt themselves to accept the harsh smoke, or all the Alveoli in your lungs are slowly being killed off by harsh hits, so less of them would technically mean it's not going to hurt as much, meaning less coughing...
I usually don't cough when smoking a blunt, but my birthday blunt(monster, almost a half zip of weed) was making us all die.So yea you get used to it to a certain degree.

Well, I think it's the cilia, not the aveoli. Aveoli are in the lungs and that's not where the irritation is. It's definitely in the throat. I think I read it's because weed is an expectorant. I could be wrong though.

in my experience you never stop coughing. my friend stays at home all the time and smokes weed all day. he's been doing this for 5 years now, and he still coughs plenty, and that's with a vape. the THC makes your lungs expand so you start coughing because of it. however, you do gain a bit of immunity from the smoke induced coughing, i cough way less than how much i used to after i started smoking out of a pipe so often.
basically, you gain an immunity to some coughing but there's no way you won't cough at all if you're smoking really good bud.
