I have the hat in the OP, it's very warm and has earflaps and everything. I put a flask of Leninade inside the flap when it's folded, it's amazing. Leninade tastes good warm too so you don't mind it. My only regret is not buying it in a size larger, it's kind of tight.

Fedoras are cool hats. Don't wear them unless you too are cool or you depreciate the value of the fedora. The same effect does not apply to ushankas because they are utilitarian hats worn by normal men in times of need and they happen to be awesome. Wearing one does not make you awesome but it is awesome.

I got about 4 Ushanka's.
However, only one of them is a russian ushanka, the other 3 are "Americanized" hats i guess you could say. Two of them are just normal, casual cold weather plaid hats, the third is a Hunting version i bought at a hunting store, rabbit fur.
I like russia history, neat country, i wouldn't want to live there though.

Someone bought me an Ushanka from Russia for my birthday. My bastard dog chewed one of the little strings off so I can't tie the sides up, so whenever I wear it when it's windy the sides fly all over the place. Also they are bloody warm, even in minus temperatures I start to sweat a little!
It also came with some hammer and sickle cuff links and broach kinda thing.

I bought the same one, but in grey, same seller too!
Go for it, you get the badge you see on the front, and two smaller stars that almost look like cuff links (they aren't, i just used that as an example).
Took like 3 1/2 weeks to get it though, when i got it, it was wrapped in brown butcher's paper secured by twine.
The seller also shipped a ruble with it too, neat little surprise.

I bought one when i went to Berlin a few years ago for 20 Euros, dont know what fur, prob artificial even so the last month or so when its been snowing in the UK, ive been wearing and my head has been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn warm :)
They're really warm, thats why I love them. I live in Kansas, it gets as low as -10 F on a cold winter day. Not including wind chill.
It feels unreal. As though it shouldn't be nearly as bad it gets.
