The Ushanka is one of the reasons that Russia helped win the Second World War. Germans had very inadequate cold weather gear, and were not used to the severe Russian climate. Russians, on the other hand, had superior knowledge of their weather patterns and were used to the -20 to -60 degrees C temperatures, and had the famed Ushanka and Pashka, the Ushanka's flapless cousin. There was no economic troubles when Hitler was in power, but he was a bit silly.

What Hitler had was not socialism, it was fascism. There's a huge difference, and supporters of Socialism and Fascism often hate each other due to the differences.

I suppose Hitler ruined the word socialism, as whenever I say it people automatically think of Hitler, since his party was the national socialists party and all. I'm a transhumanist, which seems to be a dying political belief, even though we're coming pretty far in robotics research!

I think that Soviet politics were completely fucked up. However, I find the techniques the government used to convey ideas of nationalism and pride were fantastic. The songs, posters, videos.... You gotta respect that.
