I've watched a bit of esports, and I have never seen behaviour as unappropriate as this. I wouldn't be able to take any kind of competition seriously as a spectator if the players were screaming and throwing temper tantrums like this every time they had a minor setback.
It probably wasn't every "minor setback" if they have 3 minutes of footage out of a days worth of games and someone from ESL said most of the tournament was conducted generally well.
You should probably watch more esports, and sports in general.
french and british at each other's throats?
it's like I'm in the 1300s.
Aim-Assist: The Championship
I hate to be that one guy but let's face it.
I thought the PC comp players were also shit but it appears that the competitive PC scene is fucking TAME compared to those (they're doing xbox).
Not any different than your average multiplayer game.
Aim-Assist: The Championship
I heard aim assist was turned off in competitive play
MLG
ESL actually.
First I was like "wow what a great representation of our medium, I bet the grown-ups feel incredibly awkward just breathing the same air"
Then I realized it's pretty much the same crowd of manchildren getting reeaaally worked up over other popular sports like football and soccer and such.
Still couldn't bring myself to watch it all the way through.
Who is more mature... A bus of kids with ADHD all on cocaine and monster energy... or these assholes
This is why I don't take "esports" or competitive gaming seriously.
Cool.
Base it all off of CoD.
You never see this shit in most E-Sports.
Who is more mature... A bus of kids with ADHD all on cocaine and monster energy... or these assholes
Aren't they both the CoD demographic, though?
Aren't they both the CoD demographic, though?
Hi, I have ADHD and I find other games such as ArmA 2 much more entertaining for the slow pace of the game and teamwork it offers when played privately.
The only reason I used to buy CoD at all (I stopped with Black Ops) was because I played it with friends.
I'd really apprecaite it if you didn't stereotype me.
Its funny because it's gotten so much worse since i was doing it back when it first started.
I quit the sponsored team i was on, because people got mad at me for having fun. It was the stupidest thing.
Not everyone that plays in MLG is an asshole, at least in the sc2(and somewhat LoL) side. MLG has a bad rep because of the CoD community when truthfully CoD isint even near to being as big as Starcraft or League at a MLG event.
To be honest, most of my exposure to MLG is from Halo. And they would obsess over becoming MLG-pro and doing thing the MLG way. The point still stands that playing competitively just isn't fun.

maybe in your experience, but for me playing competitively gives a game a little bit more jazz and life. pubs can only take you so far.

I have been to multiple esports events and i have never had anyone be rude, disrespectful or call me a cunt to my face. That type of thing just does not happen in SC2.. and not to generalize a whole community but the Halo community can be a bit crazy at times.

I've played thousands of hours on pc and consoles and have only run into shitheads half a dozen times.
aaaand then came moba games
Are they using controllers?
Its like a fucking daycare
nah, im pretty sure this is a video of the Ukrainian parliament
Holy shit unless the prize is like 500k that's just absurd.
I went to a fighting game tournament a couple months ago and there was a crowd around this one game of UMvC3. They were all excitedly shouting every couple minutes and joking with each other and the players and at the end the players shook hands and they both looked perfectly happy. No swearing aside from "nigga", which is ever-present in competitive fighting games.
Later I found out it was a $500 money match.
My point is these guys need to calm down or they might get some spit in their lungs and that's not fun.
nigga is not a swear word

Believe the prize was $1,000,000
This is strange. The CS 'pros' are ridiculously good (I mean 'go outside and just live' good), but they seem so calm and friendly.

I'm sure there are just as many (probably more, since the bar is so low for competitive CoD vs CS) nice or atleast decent CoD players. Hell I'm sure some of the people yelling in that 3 minute out of context video are decent people when they aren't playing a frustrating game for $1 million.
Wow these guys aren't using any kind of teamwork, they just running toward enemy in hope they will get a shot. It's sad to see that these last esport games aren't even jaw dropping, like it was with CS1.6 or UT2004, like in this video.

pro gaming trash talk used to have some class

the guys in the op are literally one step above gorillas screaming at each other
I stopped playing CoD around MW2 because it made me that angry
there's just something about it that's infuriating that I don't feel from any other game
