Attack on Titan live action movie first look - General

All those icons at the top of the video are pretty fucking annoying. Good first impression, though I'm not getting my hopes up yet. Too many adaptations have been fucked up for me to be optimistic until I see it.

People thought it was neat that characters with names were dying. Hell the main protagonist got killed off even! I think people were sort of thinking of it as the game of thrones of anime. Then as it went on it turned into typical shonen shlock. Also all the characters that died were given a name 3 seconds before they died. As the series has gone on there's a core group with plot armor that won't ever die.

Also halfway through the entire anime it's like the budget was cut in half because it becomes powerpoint: the anime with half of the shots being stills with wavy motion lines on them and post shaky cam.

At some point is introduces a ton of new stuff, only to instantly be replaced for some really poorly written conspiracy garbage. I think the writer tried to ape the political intrigue of game of throne, but didn't realise that AoT and GoT are nothing alike.

I'm not sure about the film as a whole, but that colossal titan was amazing, I don't think they could do that better.

They don't find Western culture that weird since they're exposed to it every day (although in weird, fragmented chunks), but everything Japanese seems strange to us since it's a blend of ancient Japanese tradition and, since the late 40s, American movies and TV.
