I think this is a sign to start using greener cars that don't rely on oil.
As soon as you can find an alternative fuel that is more efficient, cheaper, and works better on a worldwide level than oil does, come back and let us know about it.
I honestly hope BP stays successful long enough to clean up the spill so the taxpayers don't have to funnel their own funds into it and trust the government to clean it up. Then once it's clean, I don't care what happens to BP as long as another spill on their part doesn't occur again.

My opinion on how to clean it up.
Not a very practical method is it?
We could also bomb the ground around it in order to cause an implosion and plug the area in, just saying.
I think one country did that once when an oil spill happened but I can't remember which one.
They tried plugging it already. With a big fat failure.

Eat Shit.
Penguins now have enough oil reserves to colonise the Antarctic. :)
its a leak.........omfg.......*facepalm*
nonchalant, i live on the other side of the planet.
I don't really care about it, but I can see why it'd be a bigger deal if I lived closer to it.
Hope you don't eat fish. They're huge prices now, and yet you don't care about that, or the animals that are drowning in oil? Awesome.
a huge corporation tries to cut corners and screws over the entire southern coast
corporate incompetence at its best
I say stop blaming Tony Hale, the poor bastard's getting enough shit as it is.

[release]BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a day off Saturday to see his 52-foot yacht "Bob" compete in a race off England's shore, a leisure trip that infuriated residents of the oil-stained Gulf Coast.
Hayward had already angered many in the United States by suggesting that Americans would be particularly likely to file bogus claims for compensation from the spill. He later shocked Louisiana residents by saying no one wanted to resolve the crisis as badly as he did because "I'd like my life back."
Ronnie Kennier, an oysterman from Empire, La., said the trip to the Isle of Wight showed once again that Hayward is out of touch with the financial and emotional suffering along the gulf.
"He wanted to get his life back," Kennier said. "I guess he got it."
As social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook lit up with anger, BP spokesman Robert Wine said the break is Hayward's first since the Deepwater Horizon rig BP was leasing exploded April 20.
"He's spending a few hours with his family at a weekend," Wine said. "I'm sure that everyone would understand that."[/release]
Whoops, never mind
uhm it sucks

You have no idea how many locals use this as a source to say hes not putting his full effort into this mess.
Who names their yacht "Bob"? Also I heard people talking about how a sinkhole might open up under the oil spill and release a huge burp of methane gas that will kill our ozone. :geno:
What do you mean "what's your opinion"?
Yeah man I LOVE THE OIL SPILL.
fuck yeh BP.
Im English and i hate most Americans so haha lol u. :smug:
But i dont like seeing the cute animals die
Except that they DID realize that it was a fucking nightmare rig. The higher-ups didn't fucking listen to the people who actually know anything.

All of the people working on it said that they had cut corners on many safety functions:
They also did all of these things:

Went against the advice of its own plan review regarding the well's design and chose a riskier, cheaper and quicker casing option

Used only six centralisers to make sure the casing ran down the centre of the well bore, rather than the 21 recommended by sub-contractor Halliburton

Rejected warnings by its own plan review and Halliburton in preparations for a cementing job

Decided to forego a recommended safety step in the circulation of drilling mud

Did not deploy a "lockdown sleeve" that would have prevented the seal from being blown out from below
These are all things that high-ups would be involved in signing off on.
wow. their logic: "let's hope nothing breaks"
the big rig.. HASS THE OIL
I think BP should get some strict fines, the amount of damage they caused is outrageous and it's possible that area will never recover.
I just want people to stop yelling at Barrack Obama to be more angry...because historically and statistically....White people hate angry black men XD
fuck yeh BP.

You do realize this doesn't just effect us Americans. This can effect people around the globe. Don't be so inconsiderate.
fuck yeh BP.

Wow, you need to stop being such a self-centered prick and realize that this isn't just going to affect America. This is going to be a global disaster once it reaches the Gulf Stream (if it hasn't already) and spreads into the Atlantic ocean. Many jobs are going to be lost, many protected environments near the coastal areas of Southern North-America are already being lost, and our economy is probably going to plummet some more.
Also, BP is British Petroleum :colbert:
