more like gloveless gloves amirite
I dunno, if you can pull off the fingerless glove look it can actually look really nice. Kind of like the outfit this guy is wearing, it just isn't the same without the gloves. But it's all a matter of taste really, not everyone is going to like it. But if you do like the look but are afraid of admitting to that you should probably consider trying it out despite what other people you know might think of it, experimenting is important to figuring out what looks good on you. If you can pull it off, don't be afraid to show off what you can look good in.
Would be better without the "gloves".
I'd wear fingerless gloves every day if it meant people stopped doing this shit
I'm pretty sure half the thread title is "Look Sharp!"
yeah well it's a fucking picture, which is hardly representative of someone's overall posture
yeah well it's a fucking picture, which is hardly representative of someone's overall posture
Why are you being so defensive over this? If I was going to pick a picture to put online for people to use as a baseline for how I look, I'd make sure to have good posture.
because this is a clothes thread, posture is at most marginally relevant, there is no way that a posed picture would ever represent how some bears themself, and most people would have the common sense to realize that

wear finger only gloves with fingerless gloves best of both worlds
what have i done to this thread
because this is a clothes thread, posture is at most marginally relevant, there is no way that a posed picture would ever represent how some bears themself, and most people would have the common sense to realize that
I think it has a lot to do with the rest of the clothes because they all contribute to the overall image, and thats what we're trying to improve here, although we focus mostly on clothes. Take for example a picture of a model walking on the catwalk. Would he look the same if he was walking with his back arched and shrugged shoulders? Or would he look better with his chest popped out and his shoulders back? And if you want to talk clothes, having a good posture only helps bring out the best of the clothes you're wearing, assuming the designer built it right. Its like conversations, you may affirm that it's all about the words you exchange, but theres so much more to it like body language or intonation.
Alright one last consensus on this shirt? I wear Khakis and flannel most of the time if that makes a difference, typical Portland style.
its whatever. The usual style here isnt something like what you wear
its whatever. The usual style here isnt something like what you wear
I pretty much blend in with what the employees wear at REI.
how fast does jackthreads ship

if someone had good posture, why would he take a picture with bad posture? Chances are, he has that posture most of the time. And if its a picture, they'll have to give even more attention to their posture than they used to. I dont see how Im missing the point, youre the one thats saying that posture and clothes dont have that much of a relation

Posture plays a huge part on the way clothes look just like how a well fitted suit is going to make you look a lot better. And this thread isn't just for clothes, otherwise you'd have jumped all over the people discussing haircuts and facial hair as well. It's about looking good and posture is very important
do i look k
It just comes off as rather superior and a little bit arrogant, at least to me. I will agree that posture is a very important part of image, but I would hope that people who are posting in the fashion and generally being well groomed thread at least know how to carry themselves. Lord knows this, I know this. Please don't talk down to the people here, as if we don't know what we are doing. This is a thread for style. Posture has its place, for sure, but it is something that has been mastered by the majority of long term posters here. It is a great tip, for sure, but I don't think we need a lesson on it.

If I want to show you some clothes I bought, Id take a picture of me wearing them, and Id want to bring the best out of it
that's fine and dandy, but i doubt most people really care about posture if they're asking about outfit advice
Pull your shoulders back and fix that posture and you'll look 100x better. That goes for all of you, good posture goes so much farther than nice clothes (although both are important to look good).
lol

That being said, I stand by the importance of posture and I think the reason I felt the need to emphasize it so much is because I had terrible posture for the longest time and correcting it is one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
