it may be a little expensive at 450€ (600$)
Oh man I could buy so much stuff with $600, I would literally not have to shop again for like 3 years...
PLEASE don't start with this shit again.
I actually don't think that spending 450€ on a jacket is not as bad as some of you make it out to be (assuming it's actually well made i.e. it lasts for several years). I wouldn't be able to afford something like this, but if he can, then let him.

or you could just not be a spaz, and have your moderately priced coat last just as long as your overly priced coat
Unless there's enormous fashion changes I'm someone who keeps his clothes for very long, but that's the initial reason why I buy high quality items. I have some jeans that I've bought 6 years ago and still look and feel fantastic, but they were expensive, about 150€ a pair (200$) If you buy some cheap walmart-like jeans after a year maximum (most of the time they dont last a season staying in shape) they become larger, worn out and the color starts to fade. I plan to keep that coat forever, which in my case means until it starts to wear out loosing it's shape.. The Woolrich Parka has stayed the same for decades so it's not like there's gonna be a new collection that looks different and what you have bought is now out-dated. Forgive any english mistakes please but I'm not mothertongue I come from Italy.

That is, the price of something doesn't guarantee anything about how high quality it is, and even in cases where it does, an item that costs $100 won't necessarily last two times as long as an item that costs $50. Past a certain point (maybe around $150/$200, not talking about suits), I can't imagine how much more high quality any one item of clothing can be. Unless you're buying clothes made out of silk?

Maybe I didn't get my idea across very well, I dont only buy expensive items because of the durability, but because of all the things together that you get paying for premium wear, such as durability but also and not less important good looks, brand recognition and ,while I know most of you dont care about it, status simbol. I'm not talking about brands that are expensive just for the lols for people who have money to throw away, but brands that when you see someone wearing them you dont think "oh that rich fucker" but more "oh look what a classy men, that cares about what image he gives away with his clothing".

I mean, it's your money after all.
Does anybody else here own Clark's Originals Desert Boots? Just wondering because they are often regarded as "classics", or "vintage", and yet I hardly ever see anybody wearing them.

Hardly. I haven't seen a soul wearing them here in Norway. I see a few of them in San Francisco though, but no it's not "the only thing anyone wears". Not like the typical Vans or Chucks or whatever.
Clarks Desert Boots are pretty much the most popular brand of casual boots. Come to NY, everyone wears them here.
Clarks Desert Boots are pretty much the most popular brand of casual boots. Come to NY, everyone wears them here.
I wish I could go to NY.
LOL E: that's like the only thing anyone wears basically
Seriously? I live in Scotland, and seem to be the only one in the country to own the damn things. I guess that could be a good thing, actually. I still love them nevertheless.

I only got them because there was a 70% off sale. I would never pay full price for them. Maybe it's just my foot but I can't walk in them for too long. My foot starts hurting.

They've become pretty common as men's boots the last year or so.

Viper and lemonator sitting in a tree
Anyone know where to get something similar to this that isn't as expensive and is still in stock?
Does the jacket sweatshirt combo work? Its real cold out. EDIT: Normally sweatshirt doesn't protrude THAT much at the wrist but whatever. I wear it unzipped too.
spending too much money
Infact wait, I take that back. He spent £20 on what is most likely just a polo shirt like this [t]http://www.ozzys.co.uk/images/products/verylarge/3ea98d31b4f6b0bc1540ea0914d1e852.jpg[/t] Think about that
