Genuine excuse. My hairline is so far back on my head you could easily land a helicopter on the pale as fuck plane of existence known as my forehead. Until I feel I'm too old to pull off having longer hair, I think I'm fine with keeping it.

im sure your forehead is fine, it doesn't look big or anything. You just think that because you're used to having hair over it, but I bet there's nothing weird about it or anything like that. Your hair's too long and its kind of like whoosh I go where i want. It'd look much better shorter.

i used to have long hair, and the reasons I didnt think short hair would work on me were the exact same ones as the ones you presented. (oh I have a big forehead, oh I have big ears, oh everybody says I'm fine etc.) And even when my long hair got compliments here in FULS (amazing feat huh?), I went for a short cut. It turned out just fine, and people say I look better.
So unless you're going for the emo teen style, or you prefer to just settle instead of maybe improving or something, keep it

preferably more affordable shops though! i've checked out american apparel and their prices astound me.

For me it depends on the fit and colour (as one might expect!), but in general I have a hard time imagining one that looks good and not bulky or silly.

i usually shop from old navy, they're pretty inexpensive, clothes are a bit bland though. for dresses/jeans, i usually go to american eagle since their clothes seem to fit me better than anything else i've managed to find..
