Having a proper physical build is important, too..
145 lb @ 6 ft seems pretty slim. You clothes best be fitted or, in my opinion, many clothes won't work for you.
The good thing about my build is I have fairly broad shoulders which makes clothes fit and hang a lot better.

Is this legit? I need to look mixed for a Halloween costume. Will making a bath with some Coffee grounds make my skin noticeably darker in one use? How long will it last?
This did nothing but make me skin soft, so I tried lotion and Cinnamon, and after intense burning, I look nice and tan :v
I have to say, jackets are the hardest piece of clothing to find to match what you're looking for. I went shopping on Friday and everything below $60 was shit, and even stuff I liked above that price range was not even that appealing. I just want a nice jacket that doesn't cost a shit ton.
My self-printed Star Wars logo is starting to fade and peel off, can I get away with it?

Not sure if it'd be worth buying some of their official merch or just make another..
So I decided to actually browse some of the sites to see if there was anything I liked and oh god why http://www.karmaloop.com/product/ZShock-YOLO-Punch-Ring/253869

I dunno why you would do either, I don't really understand getting blatant TV or film billboard clothing at all
And if by can I get away with it you meant does it look like it's supposed to be distressed like this, no it looks pretty seedy
Film / TV tshirts generally go right with metal tshirts in my mental bin.
[editline]30th October 2012[/editline]
I'd put them in a non-mental bin but I'm afraid I'd be arrested.

I don't see the big deal really. I like clothing, particularly tops, that has something that I enjoy or means something to me on the front, games, movies, comics. It's not obnoxious or anything.
I was referring to the Star Wars official tops which generally have the poster of the movie on the front, opposed to just 'Star Wars' written across.

I think it depends what it is and it depends on the graphic
just STAR WARS text is pretty boring and a fan of star wars probably wouldn't even wear that.
But I have movie shirts that are nice designs I think are more than acceptable for casual wear, like this one by olly moss

Well today I saw a big heavy guy out and about in a green Tshirt that said Call of Duty on it, some kind of crappy baggy shorts with running shoes and big white socks. That's the kind of person I'd expect to wear a billboard shirt.
In my opinion, you can pull film/TV themed clothing off if:
The design is good
It's a reference that isn't in-your-face and doesn't have the title plastered across it
Like, ideally someone who doesn't watch that show or isn't a fan of that film shouldn't necessarily know what the shirt means. They should just see the design and hopefully think it's a nice piece of clothing.
[editline]30th October 2012[/editline]
For example this is a yes if I was a huge fan:

And this is a no
I totally agree with you but I think there are some exceptions to the rule, that evil dead shirt being one of them
Exceptions being things that are in your taste that are immune to the rule.
Haha but really though i don't think people should be so set on certain rules such as "no metal t-shirts" or "no movie shirts".
Case by case basis, it's something you learn as you live, there are definite nos and definites yes but for the in-between its just your personal taste and sometimes can be pulled off by some people and not at other times by others.
obviously if i like something then i like it??? astute observation
Ive bought so much off TOPMAN over the last couple months. So many awesome shirts and pants/jeans. I get complimented daily on my shit, feels good man.

Strawman as fuck. The only problem with t-shirts of any kind is if they're shit. Having the title plastered across or not being so mysterious that it was only the Weyland Yutani logo that tipped me off may contribute to it being shit, but shittiness is all that matters.
For something casual that you would be wearing a graphic tee for, Marla's one isn't so bad. It's direct but not obnoxious, understated and recognizable, it's not great but ripping on it just because of Star Wars is wrong. I wouldn't wear it when it's fading like that but try finding a better Star Wars shirt, near everything is obnoxious.

No graphic tees is a general starter rule when you are in dire need of fashion advice and it's easier to make blanket statements than explaining why their Cannibal Corpse t-shirt is inappropriate. For anyone with a bit more experience and can actually dress themselves, screaming no graphic tees is just parroting irrelevant advice.

Hah what, I wasn't even arguing, just stating an opinion. How does a strawman even come into that
And I don't see where you're coming from with that whole "shittiness is all that matters" thing either. Are you saying fashion should have no guidelines at all or what? What you said relies 100% on objectivity so I don't see how it helps anyone

"I saw someone with a Cawadooty shirt and all the sterotypical fashion faux paxs rolled into one, that is very relevant to a somewhat tasteful shirt that shares one characteristic."
Guidelines serve to GUIDE towards something that is good, they aren't rules and something that violates all of that can work if done right. Rather than setting limits based on what generally works, you judge things as they are rather than what they are close to. It's anything but objective, it only realises that even with all the different styles and personal preferences, you can still fuck up and have something that looks awful.

I'm not ripping on it because it's a Star Wars tshirt, I'm ripping on it because a tshirt with just a large text logo across the chest like that generally look odd. Even more so on girls over the breasts area as the text just gets distorted.
finally cold enough to wear my favorite coat again
