karmaloop never seems to have t-shirts I want in medium
Medium tops and 30-34 pants are the hardest to find, they seem to be the most common sizes.
Hey you said yourself your jeans were cheap, I can only see the top and they looked baggy.
With the T-shirt, yes I can understand that you like portal, I do too, hell I even have a t-shirt but don't wear them all the time!
Question time; Do you want to dress better but still have the nerdy/geeky look to you?
Do you have any shirts so we can see what one looks like on you (even a polo would be great)?
What footwear do you own?
A pic of your jeans wouldn't go amiss too.
I'll post a bit in't morning as its late and i got work tomorrah, i can show you literally all my jeans that are far too big and my shirts, i do have plain shirts and long shirts but they are cheap from cheap shops etc.
And my footwear is also chepa, i couldnt afford it before but now i got a better job i can afford to lvie and buy decent clothing.
No, none of that "Fashionable Geeky" stuff, i just think Hipster, like big frame glasses stupid ass shit like that i just want something to look good on me.
I have come to the conclusion that the Hypebeast forums consist entirely of douchebags and tools

They take the mainstream/not stupidly expensive=shit mindset to extremes over there, but at the same time it's like they judge clothes based entirely on what brand or how 'exclusive' they are. A whole forum full of Lemonators in other words
Has lemonator ever posted a picture of himself here?
Lol I can feel the jealousy of those ROLEX-haters.
If you can't afford a 5 grand watch when you're 18 it's not my fault.

your last post read that the watch was a gift from your parents, so why are you now implying you bought it?

You should wear it that way people will know up front that you actually are a spoiled kid without ever having to interact with you
Alright, listen. I don't know your history and what you've said in other threads, but I do know you're acting like an asshole in this one. You aren't the only one to come from a privileged background, but it seems you have yet to discover modesty. It isn't your money, and it reflects poorly on both you and your family if you go around wearing a watch that costs more than some people make in a year.
On a total side note, Rolex watches can come across as overly gaudy and generally in poor taste in certain situations. For anyone here with interest, I would advise a Patek over a Rolex if you want to spend real money on a watch.
Don't bother, seriously. Lemonator/alternativ has been around for ages and he never listens or changes at all.

Awesome nice one dude, that'll let me get a better idea of what looks good on you etc. Thats fine if they are cheap, clothes don't have to be hundreds of pounds to look good!
Shoes on the other hand is where I take no for an answer, I've always thought you can tell a person by their shoes; it pays to have a couple of nice trainers and some nice smart ones too, again trainers can be very cheap or very expensive, and with smart shoes they are inevitably going to be more costly for you, but honestly the first thing people look at other than your face etc, is your shoes.
No thats fair enough, I didn't mean the hipster "lol im a geek i have watched starwars onces and i like to play cod and wear thick glasses" anyway :)
I always feel like fur-lined coats are a bit effeminate.

You just said you got it from your parents.
You're bragging about getting an ugly watch from your parents. Good job asshole.
The hood's fur cuffed, but the rest is either sherpa or quilted :)

Seriously, i was dating for 3 years so saw no point to dress super nicely, neither of us did, now i'm single and searching and for some reason care about my looks, i have no idea what would suit me or not.
Anyone got any advice how i can fix up and what would suit me.
First, take pride in your appearance, wherever you are and in whatever state you are in. You look good, make use of that fact.
A good place to start, in my mind:
THESE ARE LONG TERM GOALS, YOU WANT TO BUILD TO THIS POINT
-Four to seven pairs of slim fitting jeans.
-Four to seven pairs of slim fitting chinos/khakis.
-Seven to ten t-shirts, at least five should be white, to be worn under sweaters. Slim fitting. No graphic tees.
-Six to twelve button-down shirts, at least three should be white, the others of varying colours (generally solid or simple patterns, such as stripes), they should be slim fitting. You can wear the coloured/patterned ones alone with their sleeves rolled up to about your elbows, or under a sweater or a jacket.
-Four to six sweaters, again of varying coulors, but these can either be solid or argyle to start. Crew or V-neck, both are alright, but not really deep V-collar if you can help it. Again, close fitting is best here. These can be worn over either blank t-shirts (white) or buttondowns.
-Two to four belts, one black leather, one brown leather (these are recommended), the other two belts are can be more casual.
-Three to six blazers, two navy (recommended), others can be other colours or materials, such as tweed. Fit is very important when it comes to blazers, and they must fit right otherwise you will look silly.
-Two to three suits, one blue (recommended), one black (recommended), one grey (optional), all slim fit, with reasonably sized lapels. The fit of a suit is incredibly important and is a must. If you buy these off the rack, get them tailored before wearing them.
-Ten to fifteen ties, at least one to match each suit. These should be fairly conservative ties, with small or basic patterns.
- One peacoat, black, navy, or grey. Functional, both dressy and casual, and very warm.
-Five to ten pairs of ankle socks, preferably not white.
-Five to ten pairs of dress socks, black, navy, or grey.
-Two pairs of casual shoes (such as vans (ask other people about these, really)), one pair should be grey, the other can be black, navy or brown.
-Two pairs of brogues, one black, one brown.
-Two to four watches, one brown and one black to match your brogues and belts, and the other two can be more casual.
(optional)-One to two pairs of boots, such as clark's desert boots. One pair should be the classic colour, the other can be another colour.
(optional)- Cologne, Polo Black is a good place to start. Find something that suits you.
(optional)-Two overcoats to match the suits, black and navy.
AGAIN, THESE ARE LONG TERM
I am not saying go out and buy all of these things tomorrow, but you might want to keep track of these things, and little by little make your way through the list.
Priority level: Basics (Socks, T-shirts) > Shoes (Casual before Formal) > Pants (Jeans before Chinos) > Tops (Button-downs before Sweaters) > Coats (Blazers before Peacoats) > Suits (Blue before Black > Accessories (Belts before Ties before Watches) > Optional items (Boots before Coats).
Well, I guess that works as a basic guide. Didn't mean it to be so long, but I've missed you guys.
We have been lacking this sort of thing in the OP though, so I thought I might try my hand at a basics guide. (Now, can you guys help refine it?)
that'd take years to collect or like a £2000 shopping trip
Dunno Grasp, that's kind of a style pigeon-hole
The suits and ties and blazers, 95% of us in here are too young to carry that stuff off (Not to mention the money that would go into that stuff)
I know in the kinda circle you're in it's the norm to be formal more than casual so you might be able to scrape it at your age, but for a large majority of FULS readers where they're living and what they're doing, that's not gonna work imo
Good guide for a person in your situation no doubt, but not great universally

Well, cutting suits and blazers and other formal wear, what else could be added to make it a good baseline guide? I feel like it would help to have something general.
that'd take years to collect or like a £2000 shopping trip
I sort of meant for it to be a long term goal.
Like, you go out once in a while and buy a part of it, and check it off the list,
not all at once, that would be insane.
-snip- wrong thread
Hey guys got even more pants :v:

Levi's 514, their grey. Ill take some pics of something other than pants in a second.
late but rolex is for nouveau-riche plebians. patricians wear patek philippe which looks less chavvy and is 10-30x< as expensive as a rolex watch.
but in my honest opinion blowing so much money on a watch is stupid. you can get decent looking watches for around $300. of course if you appreciate the craftsmanship and have tons of spare cash its fine but the function is just not worth it imo. its not like an expensive watch will tell you time much better than a cheap one.

(should have worn khakis with this last one)
(also the glasses are real, I need them)
"And he was so ugly that everyone died"
please shave
please
You don't have to wear a hat all the time, they don't even suit you
Also horrendously tryhard and not funny

But is this a baseline starter thing or a long term thing? I'm confused about that
1st outfit is okay I guess, lose the beanie
2nd isn't bad, again hat does not suit you
3rd, that shirt sucks. plaid like that is awful.
4th, very effeminate cardigan, and tbh it isn't a very good one either.
5th, that american eagle sweater blows, looks terrible.
also shave, lose the captions and don't do dumb poses. i guess you dress well enough but for the love of god lose the beanies.
Props for going for the peacoat though, I've got mine hanging up next to me, one of the best purchases I've made clothing wise in a while. What're your opinions on Pinstripe suits as opposed to solid color?
[editline]15th November 2012[/editline]
oh that's @ grasp by the way
for apple-jizzle, uh i guess it's all okay (except that final shirt) but you gotta lose that hat
It's all about herringbone suits.

Thank you for being so friendly and helpful, i appreciate it!
Anyway onto the topic, pretty much why my wardrobe is so bland and basic is because of the financial sitaution i was in for most of my time, i had barely enough money to survive and a lot of my clothes were hand me downs from workmates and such, the few things i managed to get myself were nice looking gifts from work mates, they are pretty much the reason i managed to actually own clothes. The wardrobe of Qwertee nerd shirts are kinda the same situation, work mates picked up some for me, i know i hated sainsburys but my co-workers helped a lot through my financial troubles.
Anyway, i'll start off with my only pair fo jeans that fit me best, i got em for 25£ from a shop called The Original Factory Shop (REcently now that i got money i got them)

They came with the belt i kinda like em!

These are some Levi's i own, they are a bit too big for me but are ok with a belt, they were given to me by my american co-worker!

Misc jeans that are all kinda too big but work ok with a belt, all of my jeans are baggy none of them are a tight fit so keep that in mind.
A note on chinos, i tried them on once and i hated them, i found them ugly and my balls didnt appreciate me wearing them, so they arent entirely out of the question but i generally dislike how the felt.
Right onto Shirts, these two shirts are probably my most expensive ones and they fit nicely,

Both were gifts!

The grey one is my favourite but has an ink mark on it so its wuined! The black one was a given by a wo-worker, its a little large but you guys saw it in the picture i posted a few pages back of my new haircut :)

Rest of my shirts that i never seem to wear! Most dont fit are too small ones that do like those checkered ones are nice i guess but a bit annoying.

My nice looking jacket thingy that i got myself, its a bit floppy big but its nice and looks ok.

This is my favourite though it is a really nice fit and i think it makes me look really good! It fits perfectly and looks quite stylish, thoughts?

Kalvin undies cause yea.
AND THE MOST SWAGADELLIC YOLO PANTS EVER

Any thoughts on what would suit me, i'll post a proper picture of me soon after i have a nice shower and get all andsome n whatnot, but you get the jist.

That's me!
I dont wear any jewlerry or anything but i'm not against it, neither body modifications (I like tattoo's and piercings, i dont have any piercings myself just the one tat)
