nice magician outfit
well mako already said it, but the first thing that was apparent to me from that photo was the jeans just not being appropriate for your build. Dem quads.
My mistake
And a couple of years should small time for jeans, it's not like they just fall apart or anything

So $100 seems like a lot if that's the reason you're spending it
Of course more than a couple of years if they still fit me. I mean I'm not going to chuck them out and purchase a new pair if they're fine.

My friend is having a bday party at a classy club tonight and i'm going, but i don't own any nice dress pants or shoes. All i have is a nice leather jacket and some collared long sleeve shirts.
He says the dress code is "strict", what kind of garb would be acceptable for that? I'm not too good at getting dressed up. I need to go shopping today for clothes so any suggestions would be nice.
My guess is that i'll need something like

It's nothing to do with muscles. I wore singlets when I was skinny I just find it much comfier. I don't know I guess I go for the more comfy approach when it comes to clothing. It's not like I'm wearing a fedora with plaid shorts and an ugly obnoxious graphic t-shirt. I always thought this thread was more to do with helping those guys out. There are some people out there who just don't know how to dress.
I do normally wear t-shirts when it's not boiling hot outside and I think you guys are right with the whole jeans+singlet thing. I like to experiment sometimes that's all.

Shoes too pointy 0/10 would not wear. Going for a style like this should suit you fine.

Those pants look fine as well. But I would think jeans would be alright. Maybe it's more classy than I think it is.
Are there any guides for starting out to looking sharp? i.e basic wardrobe? Kinda bored of just wearing hoodies and jeans all the time.
Saw a kid in highschool with a fedora and shirt that said Brony. Why?
I'm thinking about buying a coat like this: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=85238&vid=1&pid=252791&scid=252791012
It also comes in black or navy blue, but I prefer a lighter color like that. Black has always been a bit too formal for me, and blue a bit too unformal.
What sort of pants/shirt are preferable when wearing something like this?
even if u are super ripped like bud spoonce its kind of a cliche to then go ahead and wear a tank top

leaving a little to the imagination is good but i prefer siding towards comfort instead. it's so much more comfortable and breezy wearing a singlet in the hot summer weather. if it's cool enough to stay comfortable in a shirt then i don't know why you would wear a singlet.
also yeah it's got nothing to do with muscles. it's just more comfortable. you probably see muscles+singlet as a cliche because people with a more athletic body are more comfortable and less self conscious showing more skin.

go for grey, it's easier to match than black or blue

What's wrong with pointy shoes?
I'm guessing it's going to be a "no jeans" kind of night if the place has a "strict" dress code. Their website has no information which is fucking annoying.

I don't want to risk it so i guess i'll go buy some dress pants and decent shoes.
pointy shoes are the second worse dress shoes, right after fucking square toe shoes

A buttondown and jeans are fine, as are dress pants and a shirt and tie.
(but lord of ears wears these more often than I do, so defer to him.)

Just from hunting for images through their website, I see a lot of dress pants and buttondowns, sometimes with sportcoats.
(can we have an image of the leather coat you plan to wear? preferably on you)

I can understand wearing that sort of stuff as a one-off if you're like a fashion student or something... but if you're gonna go down the shops or the local bar dressed like that you're probably insane

See this is what I don't get. Why would a 'Fashion Student' ever wear anything like this though? I always thought fashionable clothing were clothes that most people wore at a time period and thought looked good? I don't think anything like that will ever be "fashionable".
It's what I hate about these TV programs aswell. They always talk about how things are "in fashion", when really it's just bullshit expensive styles that I've never actually seen anyone wear.
Went shopping tonight, used to wear like shitty t shirts with athletic shorts because I didn't know any better. Is this okay?

Also got these 2 shirts and jeans. Anything out of place?

Good start.
I kinda want that first shirt, what brand is it
The second one isn't so great
The third looks almost identical to the first but not as good imo

First and third are zoo york. They look more different in real life.
How so?
2nd one looks too baggy

I have the same except the face is white and the strap has a lighter stripe of blue in the middle. I like the watch a lot. Planning on buying one like yours and a different strap.
I want to start dressing formal a bit. A mixture of that with casual. (Jeans, Dress shirts, jacket's, and nice shoes like nikes or fresh converse. I also like hoodies. Got some pretty decent ones.)
Anyway, got a sweater like this.
But I have no idea what to wear it with besides with a plain shirt, which I find too simple. Needs the help.
