happy best country in the world day
I had 4 F-16s fly over my house at 10:00 in the morning. Loud as shhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiitttttttttt
This is the worst country to support. I see this thread, and I start to think about the genocides, wars, rape, murder, famines, etc. that the U.S.A has caused. Yet the sheeple are in a state of mass hypnosis, and they have no clue how this country came to be. (User was banned for this post ("Threadshitting / Trolling" - Craptasket))

Look at fucking Britain if you want to start this. This was hundreds of years ago, the US doesn't start fucking genocides, and how the fuck can a country cause a famine? A famine is not what you think it is.
Obvious troll, 0/10 would not troll again.
You've never heard of the Native American genocide? People aren't educated about our history, but everyone knows this continent wasn't empty when they first got here. It was already inhabited. What do you think happened to those people? And then there's the time between then, and now, and that's probably something you know nothing of. No, you probably just know to eat blue red and white cupcakes and buy klondike bars. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] You guys can't celebrate your country if you can't celebrate its history. Otherwise it's just a waste of time, and a distraction, just like Disney Land. It's useless entertainment. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] Hooray for American budget able to cure cancer spent on wars.

I bet your ass your nation has done cruel things aswell, but that's not why you celebrate national days, you celebrate them thinking of all the good things your country has done and how glad you are to live in it. Now seriously, get out and take this debate elsewhere. May I suggest somewhere other than facepunch, or atleast make a decent thread in the proper subsection?

I love all of the America haters, they provide tons of entertainment. While America did have its intolerance (slavery and the destruction of native culture) it has also provided the world with quite a lot. The American Revolution helped spark a ton of Latin American revolutions and even factored in on the French Revolution. The United States ended WW1 a lot faster than it would have when we entered. The United States spearheaded the Western assault on Nazi Germany, driving the final nail in the coffin of Hitler's Reich while simultaneously beating back and ultimately defeating the Japanese after their attack on Pearl Harbor in the Pacific. Since then the United States has entered some questionable wars but has also done a lot of good as well, even if you say Vietnam and Korea were unnecessary I think that what we did was right (we entered for the wrong reason though), without our help South Korea would have entered a dark period in which the autocratic regime would have milked the peninsula dry, instead of that South Korea is now flourishing. Perhaps if the media hadn't portrayed the Vietnam war as such an impossible to win war we would have won there, we were right on the verge of victory when the Tet Offensive occurred and was over-dramaticized by the media (despite the overwhelming defeat that the NVA had in the offensive). If we had won I would be willing to bet that Vietnam wouldn't have descended into poverty as it had. All in all the United States has done a lot of good for the world despite the amount of bad it had done too.
No, you probably just know to eat blue red and white cupcakes and buy klondike bars.
demonizing America for its consumerism is SOOOOOO 1990's. 0/10
Somehow our towns firework display was RAINED OUT. It's been.. oh 105, 104 degrees the rest of the week but on the 4th: FUCKING RAIN. WHY.

It's not like I regularly go on native american genocide missions while simultaneously beating black people and bombing the middle east. But it's cool for the rest of the world to hate America for the smallest or biggest reason they can try to come up with.

Liking Michigan's new fireworks law Happy Birthday America

That's not very nice.
In my city, we're not allowed to have fireworks that actually lift off the ground :( I guess it's for the best though, because not many people can actually safely set them up.
Just report the troll and move on. You don't see American's coming in and shitting on England when they post a Guy Fawkes day thread (Unless they are trolls) I went to a river today, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Ate some homemade jello, potato salad, and a ton of chips, water, and soda. Going down to the water later hopefully to watch the fireworks. If my family is feeling up to going out again.
That's not very nice.
did you listen to the song
Sucks, Oregon doesn't allow fireworks that go higher than 6ft. Good thing Washington is only like 10 minutes away....

Too bad I live in MA. Shitty fireworks laws.
Too bad I live in MA. Shitty fireworks laws.
It explodes like a normal firework like the ones you see in displays only it's a consumer grade. You can buy them for $2 each at any firework stand in Michigan and any other state with similar firework laws. [editline]4th July 2012[/editline] In fact I only bought one and I'll be returning to a firework stand to buy some more since I only bought one.
