I spent my fourth watching videos of fireworks because of the mass ban due to a risk of fires. My town still had a show. I was less than 50 yards away and they had a massive one that they lit, and the first few shots were fine, then a few were kinda low, then the rest were rapid fucking fire shooting everywhere and the thing exploded and shot massive professional mortars at me.

The American Revolution was not only about taxes. It was about being ruled by a country 3000 miles away and having no basic freedoms. 2. WWI was indeed a rather pointless war, but it established the diplomatic path for years to come. 3. America cut oil supplies to the Japanese to prevent them from moving further into China, which would cause even more death and destruction. 4. Vietnam occurred because of the Soviet Union expanding and arming countries for communist expansion. Again, was a almost pointless war, but it set forth a revolution back in the United States that forever changed the face of our nation. Wars will always be unnecessary. I don't get why people feel the need to bring up the amount of pointless wars we've been in. Every single country on this earth has been involved in some pointless conflict. Currently, I'm embarrassed to be an American, simply because of the way our own government treats us. I love the idea of freedom, but I don't like the steps our government takes to "give" it to us.

What is with the (mainly British) bandwagon hatred from such a great country? I've never heard stupider thing come out of someone mouth about a country in my life.

Not to mention the fact that people worldwide engage in american culture; there's not many international shows that air in america but American TV shows are broadcast all over the world. It's not too far of a stretch to say that we are the best country of the world overall, once you take in all of these factors. Of course I acknowledge it won't be this way forever, but at least right now we are the greatest nation on the earth.
