I'm glad I have access to my car, since I really got to appreciate how much I use it when it was in the shop. I play the staunch role of Taxi for friends come lunch though :v:
i might be getting a new car, a 2004 honda civic hybrid but the hybrid part is broken [editline]5th April 2015[/editline] haven't seen it yet cos my dad's buying it. just hope it has an aux port
car is super nice, just being able to drive wherever and whenever you want is great; $200/mo. insurance however is not as nice. I'm thinking about getting a cycle for all the short-ish trips I make, doesn't need gas and the exercise is good
I'm 20 and I could never afford to drive, I get a pay rise soon though so I guess I may start, don't want to be spending a few thousand a year just to drive to and from work
I am very gay, watch out gay people
bumping this post to let you all know this bad boy is in fact really really really gay and that you indeed need to watch out for him
If I was back in Edinburgh I'd get a car of my own, since you need one to explore the highlands and get to skiing resorts without paying a huge amount for the inconvenient public transport. Now I'll be in London soon it just isn't worth it, not much around worth exploring that isn't accessible by public transport for decent prices at convenient times.
Speaking of cars i should do an update here i suppose. This place functions a lot like a microblog but eh its still a nice place. I haven't really be posting here since ive been busy with a lot of high profile movies releases at my theatre, however just yesterday i put my two weeks in at the theatre. I'm getting a new job directly through amazon, im getting my license and i'm buying a car off a fellow facepuncher in order to get to my new job. It's gonna be a 1995 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite 1 paid for completely by myself. I may still work a bit at my current job merely just to stay on schedule in case i don't like the new job as well as there's only two people at my theatre that are certified to operate the projectors one being myself. So i may stick around for a month to help them out until they get a new person up in booth operations and i train them. It's a mutual thing though in case i don't like working for amazon and want my old job back i dont have to go through the hiring process again as well as i can also mitigate the current headache they have of only have two people able to work, service, and maintain projectors. [editline]5th April 2015[/editline] the cars a 3.8 with low mileage, pulls about 205 HP and for a car from mid 90's has rather acceptable MPG.
I know that car! Did you buy that from Xanadu? I met him and CubeManV2(and his Google Glass) in DC last year.
I haven't touched a car since passing my driving test at 16. Yeah.
I'll find you and force you to touch my car. I say this every time car chat comes up but I love my car, it's become alot more than simply a tool to get me places.
Obligatory gearhead question, what is it?
Obligatory gearhead question, what is it?
My car? A 2003 Focus. I'd like to change it up a little, as it is it's completely stock apart from the plastic wheel covers. I want to make it 'mine' though if that makes sense.
Obligatory gearhead question, what is it?
A four-wheeled vehicle, typically smaller than other four-wheeled vehicles, designed for transporting people and goods through the combustion of gasoline, diesel, or by using stored electric charge. But that's not important right now.

[editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
Might get low mileage but at least you have 3.8 liters and 205 hp!
Low mileage as in it only has 66k miles driven on it, which for a car from 1995 and is 19 years old is VERY impressive. You want as low of a mileage as you can get and afford. Miles per gallon fuel efficiency wise its still not that bad especially for a mid 90's sedan. 17/18 city and 26/27 highway. I'll be predominantly driving in a highway setting so its actually more fuel efficient than any other car my family owns right now. [editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
We do not speak of this evil here.
to this day i question why xanadu himself didnt slap or key the shit out of cube's car.

Cube threw himself on the road in front of my car, but I decided against rolling over him. Cube's car is always getting fucked with/parts stolen so it's not like we have to do it too, the whole world is against him.
so what im working on atm is stresfull as fuck the job shit i was talking about earlier is essentially me just making bots so they can source items from the US that people in china will spend an absolute fuckload on and these items are pretty fucking high demand, like, 150k facebook followers all get notified about the sale and everything sells out in 3 minutes high demand so i basically finished the entire bot in a basic form, just have it look for shit to latch onto and go through everything right? well the fucking moment i finish and lay down, they change their backend all the html naming structure is just fucked, its god damn renamed so i have to go through and rebind everything manually because the sale is in a few hours im dead help [editline]7th April 2015[/editline] its 5am what am i DOING
i seriously hope they compensate you

It's a crown vic hueh [editline]6th April 2015[/editline] Speaking of I'd imagine you got that fixed, right, Trek?
That is pretty bad though considering I get about the same efficiency with .8 liters, 2 cylinders and 50 horsepower up on you.
It was a luxury sedan and the things rather large and heavy so it makes sense as to why its not too efficient with the higher HP.
It was a luxury sedan and the things rather large and heavy so it makes sense as to why its not too efficient with the higher HP.
2011 Ford Crown Victoria - 4.6L V8 (250hp), Curb Weight: ~3,950lbs, RWD Luxury Sedan, 17/25 MPG 1995 Oldsmobile 98 Regent Supreme Elite - Supercharged 3.8L V6(205hp), Curb Weight ~3690lbs, FWD Luxury Sedan, 16/24 MPG All I'm saying is that the efficiency is pretty poor, even if you go to a 1995 Crown Vic it'll get about only slightly worse mileage with about the same power in about the same weight but it's naturally aspirated and the engine has potential for further modding. However, I'm not saying the Regency Ninety-Eight is a bad car, just that the engine is a bit lame. It's a good car to go from point A to point B in excellent comfort, though.

Not to mention your car is RWD and mine is not. Then you got the fact that fuel efficiency is really up to how you drive. On paper you have give or take 15-18/23-26 as that varies heavily just like on paper i have give or take 16-18/25-27 Honestly what you're talking about your car being 'better' is very negligible and dismissible. Even more so when you take in to account even though the engines remained unchanged for years in your car so the engines fairly old the bodies and features and mechanics have still changed and by modern standards. Your mph is, well, bad. Especially for a 2011 car. It's only marginally better than a car that was made 16 years before yours. Additionally mine is not the supercharged variant. The efficency of my engine is not bad considering the size and displacement and age.
If yours isn't the supercharged variant then it's only making 170 horsepower though, and the efficiency is only 1 MPG higher.
i like to car
