My mum got me this delightful led cherry blossom tree today. Though she instantly had a fit because I wanted the pink one instead of the blue one. Apparently my dad is complaining to her behind my back because like a year ago I bought pink headphones and he wants to know why. No real reason, I just wanted them pink.
That's an incredible looking lamp. Where did she get it from?
That's an incredible looking lamp. I've only ever seen one, not even sure if it exists outside my state. The store that is.
Just don't read text posts. Tumblr's great for art picture blogs without an agenda. [editline]27th January 2015[/editline] What made you want to leave it behind? I'm thinking of ditching a lot of places I like to visit, but Tumblr isn't one, because the experience you get is entirely because of you. I just follow a whole load of photography and furry art reblog Tumblrs, no text, just high quality art that I'm into.
This is why I roll my eyes whenever people go "UGH why do you use facebook/twitter/etc?? Those sites are dumb, I *proudly* don't have one. Too many trolls/opinions/etc on it!!" Facebook/twitter/reddit/etc are as shitty as you make them to be. Don't want a shitty twitter experience? Don't follow shitty people/subreddits/etc or people/places that post shitty content.
I don't like the upvote/downvote system on comments on reddit, it by and large promotes circlejerking, anything that disgarees with the hive mind just tends to get downvoted to oblivion and it really discourages debate and discussion, although it's decent enough if you just browse picture-heavy subreddits

However on smaller subreddits, it tends to work pretty well. Its a simple case of a lot of people do not know that upvote/downvote is a post quality indicator, not an agree/disagree button. You are supposed to upvote people even if you disagree with them, if they have an otherwise good post. Shit posts are supposed to be downvoted so they aren't seen. Its a good idea in theory, but unfortunately, many people do not know this so it gets abused and there really isn't a way to combat it as it.
[sp]kinda like facepunch at times[/sp]
disable ratings problem solved. A lot of people just rate and move along so you get to be ignorant of a lot of bias.
[sp]kinda like facepunch at times[/sp]
Yeah but if the hivemind on fp is racist they all get banned. On reddit they get voted to the top. Check the top comment on any news article about the middle east and isis
[sp]kinda like facepunch at times[/sp]
Sort of, but its not nearly as bad. That post may have 100 boxes or disagrees, but its still there for everyone to read (short of REALLY bad posts where it has to be deleted by a moderator, but at that point, they are objectively terrible). Reddit will send downvoted posts to the bottom of a thread and even hide them if there are enough downvotes.
isn't there a popular greasemonkey script that does that
isn't there a popular greasemonkey script that does that
Faceraper does with a "post quality metric" using ratings. I believe its broken as of now since Garry redid the site though.

Social networking makes the internet too close to home for comfort in my opinion, and facebook feels super restrictive when, for example, you have to bear in mind your future employers will be accessing anything you put on there. Yes, you can make things private but it is not 100%. Some families will kick up a fuss if you're in them and don't want to add them either, so it's the choice of constant bother or having your family see everything you do. As for twitter it just reeks of hashtag bandwagon drama and it's deliberate limits are just a total-turnoff for me. Some people dig it though
Found some notes written on a plate implying that my love isn't sure I care about him. That hurts.

Like an advisory poem on a plate telling you to remind those close that you care, or someone wrote on it to tell you something secret, ??? This day is just uuuugh. 1. Still having sleeping issues. 2. I felt really sick this morning and it only calmed down a bit. 3. I had an argument with my mother, she saying that apparently my sleeping problems are entirely my own fault despite the fact I am trying to fight it for 2 weeks now. 4. And finally, logistic company sent me a message saying that they have a package for me and I owe them around €100, which almost gave me a heart attack. And it's only 10:30am. I am really sorry that I am lately having nothing else to say than to spit my problems here but that's in short what my life is mostly about right now. Only good thing lately is one friend on Steam who, no matter how shitty the day is, always makes me smile and brightens up my mood. But he's offline right now so I am just drowning in this crap.
Do you have any idea what could cause this morning sickness? Could be because of stress or other things that might have been bothering you. Also, 100€ what? Is it an imported package?

Also i found that if i have little sleep in the night, i find i feel really sick.
I often wake up feeling full and sick, I heard acid coming up over night can cause it or something but I can't really remember. But like morning sickness doesn't really narrow it down, that can be from feeling a bit sick to throwing up. And could be anything really.
No idea what's causing these sicknesses in the morning. It's something that's pretty common gor me honestly. Paired with the lack of sleep it makes for hell in morning edition. Also no idea what is that package or where is it from.
I have a friend who has a problem with his stomach not closing off well, causing some acid to leak into his throat when he is asleep, making him feel nauseous in the morning.
I wrecked my knee slipping in the shower last night, this is not a good couple of days for my right leg.
Just convinced my mate NOT to get Skullcandy headphones. Good deed of the day.

Which is why you probably don't ever want to subscribe to a default (major) subreddit. Some people dig it though
Employers looking at facebook is literally as easy as making your FB private. I don't know anyone who doesn't do this, and it is your loss if you set up a private social network with your real name on it without making it private. There is no chance of a "leak" happening, it really is 100%. You can set it up so nobody sees your shit if you wanted to (or you don't see theirs) through grouping, so even if you are freidns with a family member you don't like you can always shut down seeing their stuff and them seeing yours. Or just do what I do and don't friend people you don't know IRL and don't give a shit when they want to be your friend. My landlord (who is a nice guy) tried adding me as a facebook friend, for example. Nope! Twitter applies the what I mentioned in that first post - it only reeks of that if you follow people who enable that stuff. Or really, get bothered when people use hashtags... which isn't really a big deal but I can see not wanting to deal with it. Not trying to attack you for not wanting to use social networks, they aren't for everyone. I can def see not wanting them because it makes you feel too distant to real people or causes bad habits to form from yourself. But I always found reasonings like "Its too full of stupid people etc!" weak as hell when it is only full of stupid people if you make your network full of stupid people. Make friends on such websites like you would in real life. You wouldn't want to be in the same room with, be friends with, or hang out with someone who drives you nuts right? So why set up your network to be that way? I only use stuff like Facebook with my real name though (and set to private), and I only use it to keep in touch with immediate/distant family or close friends I know IRL. I don't use it for anything else. My twitter is strictly following people I only know online, have become IRL friends with through the internet/twitter at cons or such, or as a means of getting to know some people with my same interests across the whole country/world in a casual fashion. Its not connected with my real name/id at all.
I never post on Facebook but it's a great tool to contact people because of how many people are on there. Like I just have a photo of me, my name and that's pretty much it. I use messenger every now and then since it's a good way to talk to people you know without knowing their phone numbers [editline]28th January 2015[/editline]
Just convinced my mate NOT to get Skullcandy headphones. So i work in a small office with someone who is really rude. I'm the newest one there (but ive been there for a good 8 months now) and one person that works there is so fucking rude and everybody just goes with it. Its just the way he is and hes got away with it for so long that i believe its natural to him but i get so fucked off with it. He is very childish and rude for example, he says "shut up" or "i dont care" sometimes when you start talking about stuff that he doesn't want to know about, but expects you to listen to what he has to say. And when its just me in the office with him, hes not like this, but as soon as the other 2 are in the office, he basically shows off infront of him. Its starting to enrage me to a point where i'm hating him. I can't really say anything since im the newest guy there and hate causing drama. Any advice?
You aren't a new guy anymore if you've worked there for more than 6months honestly Being the newest matters not. If you have any kind of voice that people can take seriously then just say it. I'm sure everyone else will thank you for bringing up what they are thinking.
