Being ill is the worst. Sat in work between two ill people and now I've gone and been given it. Not happy about it as I managed to avoid it last year. Don't think it helps when we've got so many new starts either at work.
Hey guys, I usually only lurk here, but I'm doing an investigation on gay slang for uni and wondered if any of you would like to help me and complete my survey? It's basically just ticking the words that you know.

What the fuck does cottaging mean?
I had to Google most of those.

It's polari so it's pretty old (before being gay was legalized). Means sex in public toilets.

I guess that's more of aimed on native speakers so I'll pass.
Yeah I probably should of specified. It'd be interesting to find out how much gay slang other languages have as well.
In French we say Le Dong
I'm really not into the "stereotypical" gay culture but even i knew what all of them meant.
Maybe its because they've been used on the internet constantly.

You'd be surprised how many synonyms we have for word gay. Sadly, most of them in insulting manner.
all those slangs are new to me :x
you should probably have included a country option for the survey
Those terms seem pretty old fashioned, the ones I've heard of are all used by horny creepy old men.
I think they come from an age when being gay had to be a secret.

Also, why are sexuality and gender identity asked about in the same question?
There are also a lot of terms used by queer women that weren't included in the survey.

Well, we can check that off from your bucket list :v:

Meanwhile I'm slaving over a assignment due for tomorrow and all I have is 8 pages of notes and a few hand drawings.
I'm fucked for tomorrow. :v:

In hind sight I probably should of separated the two, I just wanted to be on the safe side and include an option for trans folk. And yeah a lot of the terms are pretty old, one angle of my investigation is to see how many younger gays know them.
As for lesbian slang, sadly my lesbian friend didn't know an awful lot so I didn't have a lot to go on.
I stayed home from class today again even though I can't really afford it. Depression sucks.

Yeah that's a pretty valid criticism. I'll definitely take it on board when I review my methodology.
Bought John Wick and Lucy on blu-ray today. Gonna be a good night.
I'm gonna go see Kingsman at the movies tomorrow with a guy I haven't spoken to properly in about half a decade.

This is my guilty pleasure movie. I KNOW the concept is an intense rehashing of 'young relatable team trained to be superheroes'. BUT

Lucy is a fun movie if you turn your brain off. Which some people seemingly can't do when they watch films, expecting them to have ~ultra-deep and edgy subplots~
Lucy is a funny* movie. Normally I like all movies I watch on some level and I did like Lucy, in fact when I watched it I didn't laugh at all but in hindsight I know why my friends laughed their heads off now. it was pretty ridiculous.
I did the survey and didn't know most words. The UK has super weird slang for tonnes of things though...
Fag and faggot wasn't there, I guess because they're considered offensive. After spending a week or two with an lgbt rights activist who has had a lot of stuff thrown at him the use of the word in a positive context is possible imo. Not exclusively for insulting. Word reclaiming and all that
Fun and super cute fact the Spanish word for faggot is derived from the Spanish word for ladybug. The bar I drank at had its symbol as a lady bug :P

It has Samuel L. Jackson as the villain, that's always a fantastic idea.

i expect my movies to not use the most infamous scifi failure concepts
