I found airsoft lacks the intensity of paintball.
In paintball the guns have a bit of kick, and weight to them. Airsoft doesn't hurt very much if the shots are fired from more than 20 meters away.
In fact, I'd actually say paintball is more realistic than airsoft from an ascetic standpoint. There's a bit more fear involved due to the consequences of fucking up, and the weight of the weapon makes it a bit more difficult to play.
If an intermediate game in between paintball and airsoft could be developed.. using the same firing mechanism as an airsoft gun, but firing maybe 10-12 mm rubber projectiles; I think it'd be a lot more fun. You would be able to shoot farther, like a paintball, but be able to retain accuracy of airsoft.
I love how the guy above you calls someone ignorant, then you go off and post that.
Airsoft guns often weigh more than paintball guns. There are gas blow back rifles, GBBRs, in the airsoft world that have quite a kick to them (If they're of quality). Most don't use them because they're a bit more complicated, and require more maintenance and cleaning, and are a tad bit more expensive than electric guns.
Paintball isn't more realistic, and you get the same adrenaline rush from both.
And ascetic doesn't make sense in that sentence. Did you mean aesthetic? Paintball more aesthetically realistic than airsoft?
And seriously...what? Paintballs don't shoot farther than BBs? And lobbing them at a 45 degree angle doesn't count.
I view paintball as a sort of thing you do a couple of times a year with family and friends.
Airsoft on the other hand are for hardcore military buffs who like to play pretend war because they're either too unfit or can't be bothered to join the real army/already have a job and enjoy life.
You forgot "And don't want to risk dying."
I rather thought, "enjoy life," would include enjoying not dying.

So because gun/military nuts don't join the army, they're unfit or too busy.
What about not having a death wish?
You'd think not dying would contribute more to your decision in not joining the army more than already have a job or being unfit. By the way I don't know a single unfit airsofter, besides the occasional whale with a SAW.
I'm considering getting a pretty expensive airsoft gun or getting into paintball. I'm not sure which one I want to do. So I decided to ask Facepuch which one is better airsoft or paintball. I'm not a hardcore player and usually play during the summer or on weekends. So tell me guys which one is better?
I think paint ball is more fun all together just fun and knowing that it kinda hurts for a second makes it better. But Paintball is probably the most expensive thing to get into case you have to go to a paintball arena or what ever and buy paint and air and blah blah blah. If you just want to have some fun with your friends around the neighborhood air soft is the way to go. If money isn't an issue paintball it up it really is fun
i stopped enjoying it when i was 12 therefore its stupid and for 12 year olds.
I started airsofting when I was 7 I still do it as a 15 year old.
[editline]04:13AM[/editline]
If you wanna play in the summer you really shouldn't because You will get hot under your protection and you will smell strange. If you play in the winter you can wear as much protection as you want cause it is cold and airsoft when its lightly snowing is awesome.

You've never used a gas blowback have you?
Airsoft seems to sound more fun than paintball, and I enjoyed paintball a fair bit.
Paintball is messy and for little kids.
Airsoft is better because you don't have bigass rainbow colored tents and shit everywhere.
Idiot, your thinking of speedball.
Airsoft are mostly for skinny teenagers with a gun fixation.
Paintball is for adults generally since it hurt's alot more.
Paintball if you got lots of friends
Airsoft if you like to tinker with weapons
Paintball - big balls of pain, fun, cheap.
Airsoft - OMG real-like guns, expensive but worth it.
I'd prefer going into paintball as I do not find any interest in military or such.
Airsoft is so much cheaper than Paintball. Stick to online stores, never buy your shit from local stores, they will 100% guaranteed rip you off every single time.
Don't play with people that don't call their hits is the simple solution.
Besides, it's not hard to cheat in paintball. There's a reason they wear those slick suits, it's so the paint just slides right off. Now I bet their excuse is so they can clean it easier after the game, but I play on a paintball-airsoft field. I'm an airsofter but we play side by side on different fields, and I can see the paintballers playing. I've seen them wipe off paint.
Also, there are the occasional group of 4 or 5 12 year old that show up. If I see them get hit and they don't call it (You can see the BB's bouncing off or them flinching when they get hit, also can hear it) I make them...
...at gunpoint.
You are a fucking idiot. Paintball/Airsoft guns aren't toys. You don't aim at somebody, especially with the safety off, and your finger on the trigger, unless you intend to fire. If you hold them at gunpoint, thinking you're cool, you're fucking wrong. You don't do that. You're going to hurt somebody.

also, ignore the shitty music, and yes, that's a fucking minibus we used :v:

Paintball doesn't "hurt more", trust me. Take a shot from a gas-powered airsoft sniper rifle, with .35's and tell me that doesn't hurt.

We played because
1. It's cheaper (at least at the time it was)
2. Didn't have to worry about cleaning up paint
We didn't think we were cool, we just loved going out at 8am and coming home at 10pm, covered in mud and just having the best day ever as a father/son :frown:
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx70fphXoAs[/hd] I'll leave this here.
Either way, DO NOT buy from Airsplat, and DO NOT buy from Evike.
What's wrong with evike? That's where I'm ordering from so I'd like to know.
Where's the Nerf option?
Nerf is for pussies.
I've found airsoft is a lot more fun for me. I have a paintball gun and I've only used it about 3-4 times. Its just annoying because of the air tank and hopper. I also worry about how much ammo i'm waisting due to cost of playing paintball.
Airsoft the guns are quite realistic, no annoying parts hanging off of them. There are about 7 good sized airsoft teams around my area as well as super realistic feilds. (2 of them actuall use helicopters). So I have to go hands down airsoft. It can hurt depending on what your wearing and like another person said It feels like a flick. And as for the honor system alot of the places around here if you get caught breaking it you are barred from the feild. Also if you are caught by other players we generally follow the rule 1 mag one kill if your caught cheating. So it kind of deterrs you from cheatin.
Airsoft are mostly for skinny teenagers with a gun fixation.

No. Almost half the people I play airsoft with are in the army. Adults are more prone to airsoft due to its realism I find. It may not be the case everywhere I guess though.
Edit: Paintball doesn't hurt more.

You are fucking retarded. I know what trigger safety is thank you very much. I keep it on safe unless I'm about to shoot an enemy, and once I'm done I put it back on safety.
On top of that it's a fucking joke, all I do is tell them to call themselves out.
And yes, I do aim at somebody. They're called the enemy.
There is air soft BB's that have paint in them also.

Getting shot by a paintball will hurt more.
getting hit by a airsoft bullet is more like an "ouch" feeling.
getting hit by a paintball with a powerful gun will knock your breath out if it hits your stomach. People saying that airsoft hurts more has never played paintball, because the pain is fucking different.

I'd wish i could put some of you guys at line and shoot you with the most powerful airsoft gun you can find, and then find the most powerful paintball gun you can get.
The airsoft gun will end up with some bleeding sores, meanwhile the paintball gun will break your rib and rip your skin open due to pure blunt trauma.
Airsoft stings and bleeds. Paintball bruises.
They hurt about the same guys. Airsoft can hurt more at times, paintball can hurt more at times.
Also, if you do airsoft, Goggles are mandatory, but also get something to cover your neck and mouth. My friend had one of his from teeth broken in half from an airsoft bb.
Well played.
I haven't been airsofting myself. But I always find paintball amazing once you really get into it.
Airsoft is okay, but don't expect to play one hit your out (no one is ever honest). Airsoft guns also break easy unless you play high dollar. Don't expect all your friends to cough up a lot of money. I would say paintball is the way to go. Last long and its way more fun to do a one hit out system. Con is its way more expensive to play.
