umm airsoft FTW describes this thread
Apparently stating a fact that doesn't denounce either side isn't understandable around here
Kind of does. If I started posting about the good things about paintball (I can think of one) then it'd seem like I was a paintballer. Whatever, it seems paintballers don't see any cons in playing paintball over airsoft, and vise versa for airsofters. I as an airsofter think paintball is retarded and I can't think of any reasons to play it, paintballers probably think the same for airsoft. We can try to convince someone neutral one way or the other, but no point arguing. OP asked a basic question like "Red or white shirt" and he got every colour of the rainbow back. Bet this thread was pretty counterproductive for him.
Yeah so you both have awesome wicked ass scars, that makes your "sport" more bad ass, right? So it therefor better, right? I'm super lazy and don't feel like digging up good milsim guns. Have fun with your airsoft guns that sound about as scary as a wind up doll.
You are a living example of the stereotypical paintball player that Airsofters love to hate. I bet you use an Ion. There is next to no milsim in paintball. The thing is that unless everybody is using milsim gear, it is always extremely imbalanced. Even at the "milsim" scenarios you see on youtube with people wearing Multicam vests with remote lines and shit, if you look closely you see those lovely 200 round hoppers attached to the top. I know from experience. I use a Tippmann A5 with an HK 416 conversion kit and a 50 round hopper. It sucks when you have to reload and then stuff your pod back into your pack since you can't leave it on the ground or else it will get stolen, while you're opponent with a 200 round hopper can run up and rape you while you a fumbling around. Though I normally reload fast. Also those Milsig guns you posted (Rap4s but uglier, more expensive to use, and less realistic) are really fucking expensive when you could buy and upgrade a fucking Ion that will run circles around it for less money than the gun alone, let alone all the overpriced magazines and a vest for it all. With Airsoft, everybody is using milsim gear. Since Airsoft guns look more realistic, feel more realistic, and are magazine based 99% of the time, it will always be more realistic than paintball will ever hope to be. On a large scale atleast.
Paintballing hurts so much, I have a permanent mark on my hand from being shot point blank.
Thats point blank I got shot at least 70 feet away from an airsoft gun when I was 8 and still have the welt on my knuckle today.
09% of airsoft guns operate in a near exact same manner as the real gun.
I can't have been the only one to have noticed this... lol
That gave me a good laugh.
Thats point blank I got shot at least 70 feet away from an airsoft gun when I was 8 and still have the welt on my knuckle today.
But you're still 8 years old....
I prefer Airsoft. You can drop some good money on some nice, full-metal guns and actually have a cool/semi-realistic experience. -and it's not a mess. I'd prefer bbs to paintballs any day.
Paintballing hurts so much, I have a permanent mark on my hand from being shot point blank.
Paintball is for sadist teens, who love talking about how much paintball hurts so much more than airsoft, and with that said, makes it a better sport. [editline]12:14AM[/editline]
ITT: Airsofters
More like ITT people with brains who can comprehend what the fuck is different from the two.
Paintball is for people that like it as a sport and not as some kind of realistic battle training.
Like I've said before I've played both. For a fact I can say this BOTH can hurt just as bad. I don't understand why paintballers say "Paintball hurts more = its better". Well I can say hitting my cock with a hammer hurts worse does that mean its better? Yet you guys say airsoft is pussy because it doesnt hurt and we want to be military. But yet you say paintball is closer due to the pain. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me. If you guys want to be most bad ass with pain why dont YOU join the military? Personally I play airsoft because I like to have a military oriented game with tactics and have fun. Plus I could never join the military due to the fact I could not shoot someone just because my country tells me they are bad. In their eyes we are the evil invading thier homeland. And the best comparison of Pain = Awesome I can think of is when kids in middleschool get hurt and then brag about who got hurt worse. Thats all it really is.
Lead is where it's at. www.goarmy.com [sp]:smug:[/sp]
If you want airsoft for collecting why don't you just get a Ruger 10/22 and pimp that shit out?
i like airsoft for the inexpensive realism and not getting paint on shit [editline]07:09PM[/editline] im ex-army so its nice and feels familiar
Not all countries allow actual firearms. Besides, it's not like you can make any replica with a 10/22.
Call me a pussy, but I prefer whichever hurts less.
Paintball is for people that like it as a sport and not as some kind of realistic battle training.
Airsoft doesn't have to be MILSIM. I do fun skirmishes where we just make teams and shoot the shit.
If you want a sense of realism with all your acogs and shit, Go Airsoft. However you're just firing little bits of plastic that makes it easy for someone to simply say "you didn't shoot me". Paintball is where you get bruises, hard to ignore a shot to someone as there is a splat on them and is a fuck-load more fun (IMO). Speedball paintball is great, fast paced and recognised as a proper sport in USA. If you're looking to getting into woodsball or speedball, Best place to start off is: http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com - Can get information of local sites, find decent paintball stores etc.
Just got home from an airsoft event. Over 500 people were in attendance and I got about 6 hours of play in. During raffle ticket handouts the guy in front of my friend moved behind me to talk to his friend and ended up getting a winning ticket for a fucking gun. Should have been me ;_;
Makes me want an SVT-40 replica now.
If you want airsoft for collecting why don't you just get a Ruger 10/22 and pimp that shit out?
Airsoft is way cheaper than most firearms. And not to mention a lot less red tape. That said the most I've paid for an airsoft gun out the door is 220$, the lowest I've paid for a real gun is 125$ so there are real guns that cost less than decent airsofts. Show me someone in America who buys an airsoft Arisaka, Mauser, Mosin, Garand, M1 Carbine or any other ww2 era rifle for 1,000$+ for collecting purposes and I'll show you a true moron. And they exist too. I've seen a 3,500$ airsoft Galil which leads me to believe that there is at least one schmuck willing to buy it when you can get 5 real ones for the same price. My opinon works the same way for all Systema guns. There is no excuse for spending more on an airsoft gun than the real steel version costs (assuming you can legally buy one). Suffice it to say if I'm going to pay 1,000$ for an M16 it won't be shooting plastic balls.
In Malaysia, Airsoft is banned. and You Need Firearm License to own a Paintball Marker.
In Canada airsoft and real steel costs a boatload so it sucks either way.
This is one of the few times I'm proud to live in the US.
This is one of the few times I'm sad to live in Canada.
I got a airsoft gun. Its pretty fun. But my battery sucks need too get a new one :P
I live in the Philippines and Airsoft is HUGE around here. You can find local retailers about everywhere. Run north along the same road as my school is on and you'll find a nice cozy field with a semi-demolished house for a CQB area. Run west on a junction off that road and you'll find another field that's smaller but faster paced with a retailer that sells high end stuff. They only ever skirmish though. Thanks to the coming elections here though, Airsoft is banned because they fall under Firearms ban. I can't play until July. Back to the topic. Has anybody seen a paintball handgun because I haven't? How about paintball sniper rifles? Shotguns? And where is Ender? He should be here to help us along with his never ending pictures of his different loadouts and that pistol with the grenade launcher.
I have never tried paintball, but i play airsoft and i like it more because of realism.
Laser Tag= Better than both combined.

The reason why there are no paintball sniper rifles is that most paintball guns are about as accurate as you can get already, adding a really long barrel doesn't really help much and you can't set the gun to higher than 300 fps or you risk hurting someone.
