What part of Illinois do you live in? There are events every month
stop this argument it's tearing the community apart.
besides we all know airsoft is where it's at :v:

See, the problem is that my parents say that AirSoft is for 18+ year olds. I, being 15, have little chance of persuading them. They don't have alot of give when it comes to, well, anything.
So chances are I won't be able to participate for another three years. :bang:

Like I said, my parents have almost no give.
Clearly there's no convincing you. I love airsoft, you love paintball. We're better off ignoring each other.

This.
Just got my TORNADO grenade in today, hopefully I get to use it at Zombie Madness in 2 weeks, but the field is closed for 2.
Airsoft all the way.
If the looks of the gun are the only upper hand airsoft has, then that's not too swell.
You don't have to have a hopper on the top of your gun.
Paintball has all those listed weapons.
-Airsoft has a much larger variety of weapons that actually have different functions within a game (LMGs, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, antiarmor weapons, and a whole mess of DMRs, assault rifles, handguns, SMGs, you name it)
-The on field experience is usually much more immersive than in paintball (even scenario paintball), like the Lionclaws events posted on the previous page, often involving active military participation with actual armored vehicles and trucks, pyrotechnics, and real MOUT facilities.
-Realistic looking guns can be easily acquired without having to pay through the nose for the marker itself, and then proprietary paintballs (Like those RAP4 bullshit .43cal paintballs)

In the end though, comparing airsoft and paintball is completely retarded, and is a dick waving contest. Both hobbies are two completely different animals with two completely different goals in mind. One is intended (for the most part) to be a military combat simulation with full on immersion and roleplay. while the other is intended more as an actual sport, with small, fast paced (albeit much less realistic) action.
tl:dr: Though both are wargames, trying to compare the two is useless, since both have a completely different goal in mind.

1. Paintball is better because it hurts more.
I recommend psychiatric help.
2. Paintball is all about adrenaline.
Nope, that's just Speed/Hyper/Airball. True woodsball games can last for very long periods of time. By true woodsball, I mean actually playing in woods. Not a speedball field with a couple trees like some fields advertise.
3. Paintball is more expensive to play than Airsoft.
It is.
4. But D00D U CAN GT RAP4 GHUNS N BE ALL MILSIMMY N KEWL!
Unless everybody else is using Rap4s, I would never ever ever ever ever buy a Rap4. It would be $1000 for a decent setup.
5. There's snipers in Paintball too.
If you had any Paintball knowledge at all, you'd know that there are no practical snipers in paintball. You can extend your range with an Apex tip, but you can't triple it like in Airsoft.
6. AIRSOOFT PLAYERS R SISYS TRYIN TO PLY ARMY MAN!
It's called having a different interest. You like sliding into a bunker, another person likes sitting in the grass for hours with a sniper rifle. You like games lasting 3 minutes, another person likes games lasting 3 hours.
You think an Ego10 is pretty, another person thinks an M60 is pornography.

I still wish Airsoft is Legal in my country. And you don't need a goddamm firearm license to get an Airsoft Gun or Paintball Marker.
Currently, airsoft can only be used by Authorities. Dammit.

Australia I assume?
There are paintball handguns, no sniper rifles and i don't think i have seen a shotgun before. The reason why there are no paintball sniper rifles is that most paintball guns are about as accurate as you can get already, adding a really long barrel doesn't really help much and you can't set the gun to higher than 300 fps or you risk hurting someone.
I stand corrected on the handgun front then. But I'd like a bolt-action Airsoft sniper rifle. Shoot, reload, repeat, then eventually switch the mag out. Sniper Rifles also have the edge of range.
why?!
Do you dare question Timebombs methods? He has two vertical grips and sights on his fucking MGL, all other arguments aside from his are therefore invalid.
The best I can come up with though:

It says it's a sniper rifle... IT HAS 2 SCOPES, THEREFORE IT HAS TO BE GOOD!

Airsoft is really realistic and cool, i don't even wanna test paintball. Those paintball guns and masks etc. looks retarded.

I played a great scenario game in paintball. 6-on-6-on-6 game. Six people in a fort, and then two different teams of six attacking the fort and trying to get the flag. It was fun and also the first time I played paintball.
@Topic: I think Paintball is better because you have more arena-like games. Airsoft is more backyard and the pellets aren't as accurate to fire. They curve so easily. Also, as said before, the honor system is more in place for Airsoft.
Paintball - big balls of pain, fun, cheap.
Airsoft - OMG real-like guns, expensive but worth it.
I'd prefer going into paintball as I do not find any interest in military or such.
Man i love paintball but you got that all wrong.
Paintball - big balls of pain yes but way more expensive.
Airsoft - Nice looking guns and usually cheap for ammo and the guns.

Wow that made me sigh. First off your spelling. For an '05 I expected better. And apex barrels add curve to the ball most people use it to shoot around corners or trees (if they are good enough) But if you want distance grab a tippmann and get a Flat line barrel its worth it. Also upgrade from CO2 to Compressed Air, It is a thousand times better in air efficiency and being able to shoot the same amount of pressure in cold weather. Also it is a lot easier on your gun.
Airsoft is more backyard and the pellets aren't as accurate to fire.
No. No. NO.
Airsoft is not a backyard sport. That is clearsoft. We airsofters recognize the difference between speedball and woodsball (or whatever paintball in the woods is). Airsoft is not a backyard sport. Clearsoft is.
If you play clearsoft you wouldn't be on FP, much less argueing paintball vs airsoft. You'd also probably be 10 years old.
Sorry. Clearsoft guns are generally clear but some aren't. It's the $20 guns you buy at Dicks and walmart.
I play both, and it depends on how serious you are.
If you're going to be playing a lot, and trying to have fun with other people, I highly recommend paintball - But if you're only going out occasionally for fun, then maybe airsoft is up your ally.
That doesn't really summarize the argument though, you have to go out and try both regardless. A thread like this is just going to get every avid Airsoft FP nut raging on how much better airsoft is compared to paintball, when they aren't really that comparable.
Playing paintball is a funner experience(For me at least), both airball, and in the woods.
Airsoft is really realistic and cool, i don't even wanna test paintball. Those paintball guns and masks etc. looks retarded.
Pelting each other with 100+ bb's is realistic and cool, and in airsoft you go blind when shot in the face, just like real life!
Airsoft is really realistic and cool, i don't even wanna test paintball. Those paintball guns and masks etc. looks retarded.
Being really skinny or borderline fat with a silly haircut wearing military gear doesn't?
Playing paintball is a funner experience(For me at least), both airball, and in the woods.
I think that airsoft is more "serious" and sometimes it feels like you are in real war, it's very exciting.
I think that airsoft is more "serious" and sometimes it feels like you are in real war, it's very exciting.
If you take any of the sports "serious" in that regard, you should probably stop playing all together. Based on that post, I don't think you've even tried paintball.
Sometimes? Sorry, both Airsoft, and Paintball are no where near comparable to "real war", you should just get back to CoD.

Apex barrels are more of a sales catch, then effective. Flatlines add more range, but are terribly inaccurate. I've had an A5 with a flatline before. A 20oz. Co2 tank will give you more shots than a 46-54ci 3000psi tank(which is most likely what you're looking for if you're trying to save money, and are shooting Tippmans).
Air is regardless easier on your gun, but if you're just using Spyder/Tippman markers, it doesn't really matter. A more effective argument would be that it's cost-free in that sense.
If you take any of the sports "serious" in that regard, you should probably stop playing all together. Based on that post, I don't think you've even tried paintball.
Like i said, i haven't tried paintball and i don't even want to. I don't mean it by "serious", i mean it feels more realistic and more fun. Yeah, that's what i meant. Now you say "Don't judge before you try." I think it doesn't look fun, so i decide to judge it.
If airsoft guns were actually cool, here in Canada, instead of see-through plastic shit guns that fire 5 feet and drop to the ground, I'd actually like airsoft more.
Though, that is not happening, I'm staying with Paintball. Although the guns look retarded, sometimes, it feels good man.

Usually play Woodsball in the forest with about 30 people, 15/15. Attack and defend, escort, ViP.
Pretty nice.
