Fire can cause it to go up in a ball of flame (well if it reaches the right temperature anyway).

That's why the handle kept catching on fire. The M1 unit is designed to project burning napalm away from the nozzle, and napalm is a fuckload thicker than gasoline, so it works. Using gasoline with the M1 unit's valves causes results in overpressure and sprays the gasoline everywhere.
