Muse - Origin of Symmetry Muse - Absolution Radiohead - Amnesiac Radiohead - OK Computer Radiohead - Kid A Radiohead - In Rainbows Rage Against the Machine - self titled album Rage Against the Machine - Battle of LA Justice - Cross They're still being made, stop listening to pop-radio and expecting amazing shit to be played.
Seeing as legendary albums like Trans Europe Express are there, and they're ancient. But still timeless as electronic music.
oh god yes :3:

Maybe Rage Against The Machine too.. But still. Think bigger. I think Bob Dylan's Modern Times album sold more than the others.

OK Computer is overrated, I think In Rainbows deserves more praise than OK Computer honestly.
That's your opinion. But it's the computer album in the history books. Also does everyone know House was biggest in the 90s. It's subsided a lot compared to then. I'll have to think about Muse for a sec.
Of course there fucking will Alestorms new album is yet to come out
Of course there fucking will Alestorms new album is yet to come out
Everyone will be so excited. :downs:
Thats seriously the first time I've seen anything other than smug used by you
Thats seriously the first time I've seen anything other than smug used by you
Yeah I'm kind of a twat when I'm without smug. :smith:
I developed my own smug, but I cant use it since I changed avatar And then I realised, My avatar works well enough
When it comes to late 90s early 00s legendary albums. Moby's Play and Eminem's Marshall Lp. Arcade Fire's Funeral and Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs should be legendary but they're not given enough. Still groundbreaking.
That pretty much sums it up. There's plenty of albums which deserve legendary status, but music is so broad now that most of it will only be heard by certain demographics.
You can't really know if an album is revolutionary right away. But, I'm sure some albums that came out just a few years ago or that came out recently will end up being revolutionary.

I'd say that Cross from Justice is definitely one of the electro house albums that is a standard though.
I find new legendary albums monthly.

So was things like Plunderphonics.. So the growth of these genres were boosted a long time ago.

I feel inclined to say yes, dark side of the moon is only legendary because of it's legacy and that it is still relevant today. It's not legendary because people at the time thought it was great. Basically what I'm saying is that some albums going round now will probably be looked on in this way.

It was very much a "stoner" era anyway.
I think it'll be things like OK Computer which have just insane "cult" acclaim and will live forever due to their fans. I think the era where GOOD music was in the mainstream has been over for a while, if it will come back is arguable. [editline]8th May 2011[/editline] Legendary albums don't necessarily need to sell well

The only albums to get 20 millon or more sales since 2000 are Usher - Confessions Norah Jones - Come Away with Me Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory Backstreet Boys - Black & Blue (The Beatles - 1, but it doesn't really count) Pretty shitty if you ask me. All of those were in the early 2000s as well, none very recently. I do, however, like the fact that a few artists are starting to go back to the real "album" format where it's meant to be listened to as a full album, rather than just random singles, like in Kanye West's new album. Also they've been printing more vinyls than they used to.
um duuuuuh my world 2.0 any1??
um duuuuuh my world 2.0 any1??
Don't you have a majority government to be running?
LIQUID SWORDS PART II THE RETURN OF THE GENIUS AND RZA and jay electronica's future album release will forever change the rap game.

No
The thing we have to look at, is are people having great experiences with music these days? I'm not talking about the "having it in the background" crap or "this is my style" malarkay... I mean do people get goosebumps any more?
