The marijuana is a depressant, actually being tested as a medication for children with ADD/ADHD. Doctors will even prescribe it in California. It's likely the OP just is disorganized.

uhhh just because he believes that good parents try to keep their kids away from drugs doesn't make him uninformed. I understand perfectly that marijuana can be incredibly harmless in many (if not most) circumstances, but that doesn't mean that parents should condone or ignore its frequent usage, I consider that lazy parenting.

jesus christ stop telling everyone you disagree with to do research. When did I ever say that I oppose the legalization of weed? I don't, I whole-heartedly think that it should be legalized (and I live in San Diego, where it will actually affect me). That doesn't change the fact that it is illegal now, and parents shouldn't advocate its usage. Telling your kids that it's okay to experiment in college is one thing, but turning a blind eye towards constant use in high school is another
and btw, you give people who smoke weed/are for legalization (not necessarily the same thing, and I realize that) a bad name by being one of those kids that just tells people that if they disagree they're wrong and need to look into it more.
