i got that open bolt reload from a video of the ANA showing up some US army guy on how to reload AK-47. The trigger finger thing I stole from ender, and that last one (the main hand one) is a method i actually developed myself, belive it or not
Yeah I think I've seen that same open bolt video you're talking about.
The finger idea was mine, used it on my old G36 AEG reload video. I use it a little in my new video I'm working on.
As for retention reloads, doesn't look like anyone is doing them yet. I say we just stick with speed reloads for now.
Got my shotgun reload video up. Average time is 2.91 Seconds. Next video I'm working on is the M4, expect those to be even faster.

Try keeping the stock on your shoulder, it will save you time and keep you at the ready. I bet if you had some sort of open top mag pouch you could greatly decrease your reload time. Others online will tell you to keep your eyes on your target while you reload as well.
Keep at it, it takes practice and lots of it.

While I was recording I had quite a few attempts where the mag pouches would just refuse to open. These mag pouches are secured with buttons and they make opening those pouches a pain. I used to think it was great having mag pouches on my jacket and that I could just use that until I got more money together for a loadout but now that I'm trying to speed reload I realize that's probably not the greatest idea and I should probably get some kind of vest, even if it's a crossdraw, while I wait to gather loadout funds after I buy my next gun.
People seem to care so much about reloading faster, but really, how many times has an extra super fast reload saved you?

I'll have to dig out my AK. I don't have any fast mag pouches for the AK (only issue equipment) and I am terribly slow with it. However, I CAN do a bitchin transition to pistol with it.
