Says to use alcohol to relieve ailment, not to get drunk. Some of the new testament says not to get drunk at all. And some says just not to go to Church drunk. It mainly refers to alcohol because that was the main mind altering substance back then. It's not very consistent on the subject because the Bible was written by many different people.

Perhaps "believe" was the wrong word to use. I'm not a big fan of believing in things I can't see or touch. I simply meant that it seems to just be ignorant, misinformed religious fanatics who vehemently oppose/deny the theory of evolution. Most rational people can see how it makes sense.

I'm not religious, but I sort of wish i was. The thought of just not existing after I die is scary; but i'm not sure i'd want to live for all eternity in the afterlife.
Death is probably my biggest fear, which is funny because when it happens i won't even know it.

I just lost all respect for you.
I'm in a bit of limbo. I grew up Catholic but no longer go to church/associate. I'm not atheist, and believe in some sort of higher power, but don't like the insulated "our God is right" mindset of most large religions. Religion should unite people and any conflict, violence, or hatred over religion is the worst and most hypocritical thing ever.
So for now, exploring agnostic with religious ideals. There are elements of the Bahai faith I really take to, especially the quote (just paraphrase from what I remember): If religion be the cause of disunity, then is be better that there is no religion at all.
Raised Episcopalian Christian. When I was old enough to understand the world and develop beliefs I became Atheist and over the years have slowly developed a hybrid system of beliefs that comes from Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam, and a lot of my own.
It seems to work for me.
