Krishna and Mithras were just the same as Jesus Christ: People. But time and legend turned them into something more, which they weren't. But that reason alone shouldn't make an atheist. Don't be atheist because you don't believe in the Bible. I am heavily religious in a spiritual sense, a Universalist, but I think the Bible is a story book basically. Religious rules can basically go fuck themselves, aside from the fundamentals (of peace and shit, not this no gays, etc . . . bullshit that the staunch Christians preach). If you truly have reason for not believing, such as just not feeling it, then that's fine. But just because of some stories/myths etc . . . that can't be true, that isn't a strong enough reason. Man twists all things through history.

2) There's no reason to believe that any of those people exist. All I'm getting at is the fact that all three mythologies are almost identical.

Here comes a little wall of text, read it through and you may learn alot.
Once dead, you are unable to use your senses and without your senses you don't have any perception. Without perception you lose your ego and you mind will be free forever. This is what i call enlightment.
During the influence of psychedelics you get a glimpse of Nirvana. you start to wonder and ask yourself questions about the world and life. You may lose your ego, and you nolonger feel that anything around you have any true purpose. normal objects may have a purpose in in a normal state of perception and consciousness but the objects will not help you find the answer you are looking for. Ego is what keeps you from reaching Nirvana beacuse only when you dead and being unable to get impressions from life and all there is left is an undisturbed mind that can think freely and create its own reality.
All we see, hear and feel at this moment is nothing but a mere illusion created by the energies around us. With our senses we can feel, hear, taste, smell and see the energies. we ourself are created by energies, our eyes, brain, even our mind are made out of energies. Atoms contain vast amount of energy (example: uranium) an atom have a very simple construction, it is made out of neutrons and protons. the neutrons are negatively carged energy and the protons positivly charged energy. the distance between the protons and neutrons is huge and therefor we should not be able to see them, they would be transparent but for some reason we still see the atoms being solid. it is just an illusion created by your own mind. all our feelings are illusions aswell, love, hate and fear are nothing but simple changes in the energy fields within our bodies and brains.
Ego is life, death is enlightment.

More detail: My mother was a nurse for... pff 40 years, and she came across various cases where instead of a patient being put in for immediate surgery, they have had to go to ITU (intensive care unit, deaths bed, last chance of survival after surgery) and just die/try.
