The certificate states it is a US Airforce Award Certificate. You don't just get handed that shit at random I'd expect.

Wicked.
With all the shit, crap foods, drugs, ignorance, whatever, it's a miracle how we even have survived so far! It is truly a miracle!
Windows, mate. High-gloss card. [img_thumb]http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k553/BigDumbAmerican/BehindMe.jpg[/img_thumb]
Also judging by the lock on your cabinet and that building outside your window, You're in a military dorm correct?
[img_thumb]http://www.columbiasurgery.org/thoracic/img/pic_pectus.jpg[/img_thumb] I've got pectus excavatum. Pretty common birth defect, but mine is apparently much more severe than most cases in the sense that it's seriously constricting my lungs (lung capacity at 60% of normal volume) and has displaced my heart. My heart is beating against the solid bone of my ribcage, which could lead to serious damage down the road. Because of this, I need surgery to correct my defect. It's rather unpleasant, too! They'll cut me open, break all of my ribs, cut off the extra length, pop out my sternum, shave off the excess cartilage, wire it all together, and shove in a metal band to support the ribs while they heal in their new shape. Apparently it's pretty excruciating, but at least you get a funny scar out of it: [img_thumb]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/cReHD6pVCMM/0.jpg[/img_thumb]
When are you getting the surgery to correct it if I may ask? Also good luck and I hope it goes well.
Actually I take it back. There is absolutely no way you could possibly be allowed to fly a plane or be in the military. The RAF won't even allow small things such as any amount of asthma beyond the age of 3 or any corrections to the body via surgery unless minor. You have or had a giant god-fist hole in your chest; absolutely no way. (User was banned for this post ("Shut up, stop derailing the thread and get some sleep" - Starpluck))
Woah, I didn't know my city was keeping track. Wicked.
Hang on, you have this birth defect, but somehow they missed it on the military medical? Forgive me, but in the UK, the Royal Air Force pilot medical includes a full body physical, inclusive of genitalia and anything inbetween. I have no doubts to your backstory but my god how did they miss it?!
When are you getting the surgery to correct it if I may ask? Also good luck and I hope it goes well.
Can't say exactly, but as soon as I'm able. I've just gotten my DD214, and the insurance company needs it to determine whether or not they'll cover the surgical costs. I'm not expecting that they will, since it's a preexisting condition, but if they won't we'll still figure something out. Money's tight, but I'm sure we'd be able to get a loan or a payment plan or something. It'll probably be at least a couple of months before I'm under the knife. Thinkin' about doing some kind of video log of before and after. Seems like that might be interesting.
Actually I take it back. Once it was determined that my defect was causing health issues I was given a permanent down-slip and started the MedBoard. I told them no, because I didn't realize that I actually did, and they signed off. No problemo. The real problems didn't start presenting themselves until after I got to Ft. Huachuca. The elevation at Ft. Huachuca is very high, and I noticed that I was always short of breath. I asked the doctors at the clinic about it, and after a bit of research we figured out what the problem was, scheduled a bunch of tests and consultations, and here I am.
Get the hell back on topic... Was not towards you Big Dumb America.
OK he's banned, shouldn't be any more bitching.
Thank you sir.

Is yours severe?
Ever since I threw up in school almost a year ago, I can't eat quickly in public without feeling like I'm going to throw up. I'm fine when I'm at home or alone, but I can't eat at school or at a restaurant without throwing up. Anyone know why? Last September I almost choked at school too, and now I can't swallow normally. I have to send my (small) amount of food to the back of my mouth, then swallow. My brain won't let me swallow normally anymore.
I tend to get stomachaches and usually diarrhea after drinking coke. Am i allergic to something in it?
Sounds like it. Does it happen with Pepsi as well as Coke?

That sounds like it could be fairly serious. [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] Also, good luck Big Dumb American, hope it works out well for you man.
Yeah, they let me in, but once we realized that it was causing problems they started a MedBoard to figure out what to do with me. I'm getting sent home for good next week.
That's fucked up they medboarded you but you should get paid for the rest of your life. We had a girl with this weird breathing problem that should not have EVER EVER EVER cleared MEPS but she got in and now has X% disability for asthma that "wasn't there" when she got in so it's the Air Forces fault.

[editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] I've been suffering headaches for 3 months, stabbing headaches, sometimes severe sometimes not severe, been to the doctors for an examination (no CT/MRI) said that my blood pressure and heart rate are fine, there is no swelling at the backs of my eyes and told me to get an eye test and to come back in a month for a review it if its still there some more tests and most likely migraine tablets as it could be a chronic migraine or something. Opticians said my eyes are fine, they also did an optical neural pathway test and said that there is no brain tumors of any sort etc. (can they even be sure from that). I've been suffering; - stabbing headaches; sometimes a burning feeling (pin pricks) - feeling occasionally sick, never throw up - body twitching, like a leg spasm or something Anyone have any similar experiences?
I would for sure go in for more extensive testing such as a MRI. I hate to be a downer in this situation, but those symptoms sound very similar to a brain tumor.
My left leg falls asleep every few minutes and i get pains in my knee everytime i try to go to sleep Also i've been sweating a hell of a lot while sleeping lately Nothing interesting but oh well
On my right hand, my little finger is numb. It's been like this for three or four weeks. I have no idea why. [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline]
Sounds like it.
