How to take an interesting concept, and turn it into a generic stupid horror movie, seriously i love Chernobyl, but any credible film maker could have come up with an original idea but instead we get generic horror garbage.
If someone was to make an actually decent horror movie in Chernobyl, they'd have stay away from using any of this ghost/mutant/zombies bullshit, chernobyl is already creepy enough without all that stuff.
Goddammit now everybody in high school is going to be like "I WANT 2 GO 2 CHERONOBL JUST LIKE IN DAT SCARY AZZ MOVIE LULLULUL"
Sure. And everybody in this thread is referring to STALKER. v:v:v
If someone was to make an actually decent horror movie in Chernobyl, they'd have stay away from using any of this ghost/mutant/zombies bullshit, chernobyl is already creepy enough without all that stuff.
yeah, but there's nothing mysterious about it. you can't make a horror movie out of an environment, let alone one that we already know all about at the core of horror movies is the mystery of the antagonist, and if there's no mystery or antagonist then you just can't do it
Anything Soviet related: The R's in the title must be backwards.
Most people are "confirming" that the monster/creature hunting them is something similar to the Hills have Eyes
The only thing they heard was..."ANNNO SHECKY BRECKY STALKER" And then there was darkness.
:34 seconds in literally looks like a screenshot from stalker.
apparently it isnt, i tracked it down http://timmsuess.com/chernobyl-journal/chernobyl-journal-the-pictures/
There should be giant catfish mutated monsters:

There can be an antagonist, but you don't have to show it at all. Seeing the antagonist only halfway trough the movie just being some generic child ghost/zombie just makes it uninteresting. Se7en didn't have any ghosts or zombies or shit but it was great.
Jump scares: the movie
it'd be cool to watch just because it's great seeing video of chernobyl (even if it is faked, it looked faked well and that's good enough for me), but of course the project has to be headed by the cunt that came up with paranormal activity man what a thrilling plot, some american college kids are led to a spooky place by their whacky, overly zany and "CrrAAaaaAAZY :D" friend only to find something horrible happens there
Well, during the actual tours of Chernobyl, you had to wear a radiation suit and pass through radiation checkpoints throughout the tour. I don't think anybody is wandering into a reactor in plain clothes.
do they find the wish granter?
The movie looks like crap, but I'll watch it anyway because of Chernobyl.
Nearly offensive

Oh god.
This looks so fucking stupid.
Hills Have Eyes: Chernobyl
I'd rather watch Jaws 3
I'd actually go to cinema to see this movie and each time something happens I would say out loud, "get out of here stalker"

I'm pretty sure the first Alien film didn't, and I don't think it impacted the film negatively.
I'm pretty sure the first Alien film didn't, and I don't think it impacted the film negatively.
I've not seen it in a while, but I think it did, it just did it so rarely that the film worked out as a perfect horror film.
"I haff Gayger counter. Becus I Russian. Everyone know good russian man haff gayger counter to protect us from radiations." That guy is the most half-assed Russian steryotype I've ever seen. I bet you any money he has a bottle of vodka or a sausage at some point.
Will this be one of the films where the main characters dying horribly is the best part? [editline]26th March 2012[/editline]
Why am I expecting a movie like Quarantine, except not from a first-person point of view.
Take the guy who did REC and give him this plot, THEN the film would be good.
