doesn't look that bad imo. like, doesn't look good but i wouldn't mind watching it. if you're looking for a good movie then horror isn't really the genre. man it makes me laugh how all russians sound the same and all wear at least one piece of tracksuit clothing (in popular media at least). when the russian guy was hollering on the radio it sounded like every single character from STALKER to me.
is it filmed in chernobyl? it looks horribly americanized
A better plot would be they all die except one who get rescued by a stalker. He gets taken back to the camp and all the other stalkers laugh at him and his silly hipster ways. He is then used as bloodsucker bait.
i wish the people that edited this trailer died soon that is [editline]26th March 2012[/editline]
is it filmed in chernobyl? it looks horribly americanized
a film can be shot by US filmmakers outside of the US... [editline]26th March 2012[/editline]
if you never show the antagonist then the viewers will feel incredibly pretty insulted
wrong.
wrong.
ok cool
That actually looks pretty damn amazing. The real question is. How the fuck did they go into reactor 4, the one that caused it all, and be fine?
a film can be shot by US filmmakers outside of the US...
obviously, but isn't chernobyl/pripyat heavily guarded by the army and not many are let in? did they actually get clearance to film there? a lot of the buildings in the trailer look too... intact.
The first thing i thought of was SCP-610: The Flesh That Hates. It would of made a better movie.
That actually looks pretty damn amazing. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] Niko had a track-pants :v:
and the son of that russian dude in cod4. and rookie bandits in STALKER wore tracksuit pants too lol.
I am now imagining stalkers watching them and laughing their asses off
Niko had a track-pants :v:
I thought Niko was Bosnian ?
I thought Niko was Bosnian ?
Serbian
Well, it is said he fought during the Yugoslav war, but I don't think it was specified whether he was on the Serbian side or the Croat/Bosnian side. At most we could say he's a former Yugoslavian :v:

Get out of here hipster...
*Insert generic STALKER joke here.
Get Out of here Spess Mehrine...
I'm pretty sure the first Alien film didn't, and I don't think it impacted the film negatively.
The real antagonist is having to watch Ellen Ripley run around in granny panties for 30 minutes. edit: but yeah, the alien was shown at the end of the film. It stands upright and whips its tail around a bit. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
obviously, but isn't chernobyl/pripyat heavily guarded by the army and not many are let in? did they actually get clearance to film there? a lot of the buildings in the trailer look too... intact.
Chernobyl didn't explode (at least not in the way people imagine - yes there was definitely an explosion, but not city wide). It was a meltdown. Basically, the reactor started leaking out massive amounts of radiation after it exploded. But the explosion itself wasn't the disaster. There is no reason that Pripyat, which is a fair distance away from the Chernobyl reactor, wouldn't still be in decent shape, structurally.
Seems like a good movie to go see with friends.
I'm pretty sure the first Alien film didn't, and I don't think it impacted the film negatively.
uhm have you ever seen Alien?
No, but I heard it was the most successful of the series because they didn't show the antagonist much. You're more scared of something you don't see than something you know every inch about.
Love the top comment on the video.
I'm sorry, but the* letter "Я" is read in russian as "YA", and the letter "П" is "P". So that instead of "Chernobyl Diaries" reads like a "cheYAPobyl diaYAies".

Love the top comment on the video.
IIRC it should actually be "SNEYAPOVUL DIAYAIES"
The whole film turns out to be some stalkers dicking about with artifacts and fucking with the tourists.
I think I'll watch the film and while everyone is scared shitless, I'll just be comparing everything to STALKER, and it'll make the film better for me. The scene with the little girl in the trailer is pussy shit compared to a snork jumping out of nowhere in the dark. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] And fucking bloodsuckers
Love the top comment on the video.
He forgot to mention C in russian is S and Y is U. The thing is first time I saw the title I read it in russian thinking it was russian text because of reversed R. It made no sense.
Really, the only way the creators can make this movie worth anything now, is that at the end we'll find out that it's just a campfire story told by a Stalker. Then they have a good laugh. Cue credits.
Let's bring a tank to a ghost battle.
That's an APC. It's called an Armoured PERSONNEL CARRIER for a reason.
