It's supply and demand. If the supermarket gets 100lbs of meat every month but only sells 50 lbs, they're not going to keep buying 100lbs.
You would be surprised how much stuff places like walmart throw away.
You would be surprised how much stuff places like walmart throw away.
which is still a function of supply and demand, except in walmart's case they buy lower quality versions of products (including name-brands) along with other supply chain profit optimizations so that they can afford to have the 'lowest remaining' fluctuation of available stock always be the 'highest demand' for stock
Sorry, are you talking about plastics? Those use oil, yeah, which is from animals that died of natural causes hundreds of millions of years ago. The point of veganism isn't to not use animal byproducts, it's to not kill animals for the sake of animal byproducts that you don't need (for example, if I came across a carcass that was already dead, I'd have no problems eating it). The main problem in this day and age is killing animals for food, so it's the principal cause for concern for vegans.
I see.. So, there would be no "this day and age" if we didn't kill animals for whatever purpose, like acids, fats and vitamins derived from them? Oil is not the only animal byproduct we or they consume through the use of electronics for example. Ugh, I still don't claim to have the answer for world hunger or anything. Perhaps insects?
for the most part this thread is way more mature than its past iterations rest in peace merge [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]
I see.. Oil from million years back isn't the only animal byproduct we consume on a daily basis I think..
you're trying awfully hard to mutate his point he's only saying that it is a good goal to take any reasonably possible step as an individual to minimize harm on beings of feeling and thought (disregarding intelligence level) vegetarianism and veganism are just extensions of the same humane concepts that land you in jail for killing a human, or being violently cruel to animals [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline]
Really, are you really doing this? What I obviously meant is that veganism is about compassion for sentient beings. So these people, albeit being fucking morons, are not there to spread an ideology that means any harm on anyone. Hence me saying, they have their heart in the right place. They are going about is in a shouting and overbearing way that is just is very much like shouting on the pavement. Next time, think longer than 3 seconds and try to use that meat evolved brain of yours. It should be easy with all that protein you are getting from your delicious bacon.
practice what you preach broe
idk man from what i've seen they're dead pretty fast
They live extremely awful lives.
hahaha, the way that guy said "It's not just chickun!"
he's only saying that it is a good goal to take any reasonably possible step as an individual to minimize harm on beings of feeling and thought (disregarding intelligence level)
And that's awesome, it's a life choice, as legit as any other (probably more justified then most). It's when people start getting all preachy about it things tend to get awful.

It's when people start getting all preachy about it things tend to get awful.
in simplistic theory, everyone should stand up and take action for what they believe is right, or at least as long as they've put thought into why they hold their beliefs (for example, being raised as a racist and campaigning against minority rights isn't applying thought and is just going with what was taught) however, the people in this video are still wrong in this activism because the results of their actions act against their purpose; they clearly did not think of the consequences
what's the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian [sp]this[/sp]
They live extremely awful lives.
Factually untrue. I am not a vegan, I'm not even a vegetarian, but if you do a little bit of research about the topic, a well rounded meatless diet is equally healthy. Proteins from plants are actually incredibly abundant and very good for us with pretty much none of the down sides of meat based proteins.
