They thought by killing him would make the Undertaker go away.
I liked it, but the town wasn't backwater- backwater is kind of deep south, bayou or forested area, while this was more out west. Still amazing.

Absolutely phenomenal, I'd love to see more stuff in this style. As for its meaning, it's exactly how I feel about religion. I'm backing this animation on every front.

Whenever the Undertaker appears in Backwater, someone dies. The townspeople thought that he had come for the guitar guy. After they killed the guitar dude and the Undertaker remained, they started killing eachother hoping to make him leave.
I think they only killed him because the priest urged them to. Priests are dickheads.
I find the paradox amusing; If the Undertaker hadn't come, would the hobo get killed? If so the Undertaker must have known he would die even though the Undertaker coming to Backwater is what causes the hobo to die :psyboom:
That is of course considering he has some supernatural ability to find death which by looking at the intro we can almost establish he has, so it's kinda like the grandfather paradox

Nope, not by the same guys. The Animation Workshop is a college that offers courses on animation, and all the films branded with "The Animation Workshop" are bachelor films made for the college.
Oh, and I think a lot of people missed the most obvious point of the video. It's a metaphor for the crucifixion of Jesus: the Tramp is Jesus and the Undertaker is God.

That's a bit specious, don't you think? I mean the only real similarity is that he died in that cross shape, but that's a common theme.
And the Undertaker really isn't like God as portrayed by the bible in any way, really.
The only thing I didn't really get was the whole 'oh god no' once it started raining.
Its as if they were scared of it.
